Well, another hilariously short one shot from me. It's a rewrite of the scene where you and your partner reunite, and uses Owl City's Vanilla Twilight as a basis. It's also something I did to experiment with 2nd person views.

DISCLAMER: I DON'T OWN POKEMON, I DON'T OWN THE SONG. I DO NOT TAKE CREDIT FOR COMING UP WITH EITHER OF THEM

You see your partner sitting on the beach, looking out to the sea. You know she always does this when she is distracted. You always thought she looked so peaceful when she did. And beautiful. But you feel sad, knowing that you can't sit next to her, console her, lend her a shoulder to cry on.

Someone who doesn't exist can't do any of those things.

You feel tears well up in your eyes, and then drip down your face. She is all alone in this world, and you were the only one who could make her feel wanted. But then, you hear her sing:

"The stars lean down to kiss you

And I lie awake and miss you

Pour me a heavy dose of atmosphere"

You remember the song from your past. You begin humming to the tune.

"Cause I'll doze off safe and soundly

But I'll miss your arms around me

I'd send a postcard to you, dear

Cause I wish you were here"

You smile at her words. You know that her words are heartfelt.

"I'll watch the night turn light-blue

But it's not the same without you

Because it takes two to whisper quietly

The silence isn't so bad

Til I look at my hands and feel sad

Cause the spaces between my fingers are where yours fit perfectly"

You look down at your paws. Did she really mean it like that?

"I'll find repose in new ways

Though I haven't slept in two days

Cause cold nostalgia chills me to the bone

But drenched in vanilla twilight

I'll sit on the front porch all night

Waist deep in thought because

When I think of you I don't feel so alone"

You realize that those feelings were mutual.

"As many times as I blink

I'll think of you tonight

When violet eyes get brighter

And heavy wings grow lighter

I'll taste the sky and feel alive again

And I'll forget the world hat I knew

But I swear I won't forget you

Oh, if my voice could reach

Back through the past

I'd whisper in your ear

Oh darling,"

"I wish you were here"

You blink as you realize you just sang the last line. You hear your partner gasp, then turn around. You see her eyes widen in shock.

"Is it really… You?"

You simply smile at her and nod. You walk up to her and hand her a small piece of paper. You didn't know why you wrote it, but it spoke a thousand words using just four:

Won't leave you again.

She smiles at you. You feel your heart miss a beat. You forgot just how nice she looked when she smiled.

You know that you will live up to that promise on that tiny slip of paper. You couldn't bear seeing her be hurt again, like when you left for the first time. And you just say three words to make sure you won't.

"I love you."

You see tears well up in her eyes, but you can tell they are of joy. You simply brush them off her face.

And you finally kiss your true love.

Well, wasn't too bad, I suppose. I enjoyed writing this, and hope you enjoy reading it. Again, I beg of you: PLEASE REVIEW!
