Atopos - Howdy everyone! I know I should have been writing something before this (and I have plenty of inspiration), but I'm just super lazy and don't know how to begin. The only reason I'm posting this (piece of junk) is because of the super lack of France b-day fics. Shock! It sort of ties in with a story I had written for Canada Day but never really got around to finishing or putting up. The important thing is that at least Canada had b-day fics.

I'm Canadian and I didn't even know it was Bastille Day until tonight while eating dinner. I looked it up and realized that other countries do celebrate. According to Hetalia, though, July 14th is France's birthday. So long story short, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, FRANCE!

P.S. I still don't own Hetalia.

Happy Bastille Day

And Canada thought his birthday was less than spectacular.

At least he'd had visitors.

America's daytime television stars would welcome the watchers and wish Canada a happy birthday, which gained applause from the audience. For nine days the Queen had visited, touring the provinces (avoiding the chilly territories and only visiting the populated areas) with England at her side. Quite a few countries seemed to remember except for one.

France had dropped his head in shame when he'd realized it, but at the moment he wished he could point the accusing fingers at the noisy North American brothers. Canada's birthday gone un-celebrated? Hardly. America's birthday forgotten? Never. France's birthday? Why, yes, of course.

The only other countries that seemed to remember were those from Europe, yet it took them a moment to realize it. Even Canada had seemed to forget until he saw it on the news at his dinnertime. With great haste the young nation had called up his (other) beloved older brother to talk to him in rapid French.

France could remember the guilt he had felt when he heard that he had missed Canada's birthday and England had not. At first he thought that perhaps the late 'Happy Birthday' had come from Canada being bitter. No, just a bit of a bad memory. He had remembered in the end, which was what mattered most. The countries France had grown up with had taken one look at the way he was celebrating and remarked on it, it taking them a moment longer to remember what day it was. They all celebrated in the end, after all.

Europeans always joined together when it came time to do something, whether it be fight or rejoice.

So, France would raise his glass in celebration to all those who helped him in his French Revolution.

La FĂȘte Nationale.

A very happy Bastille Day in honour of himself.
