A/N: This first chapter will be shorter than ones to come in later chapters, so please enjoy.
The darkness trailed behind her, devouring everything in its path. Running she frantically looked for a place to hide from the shadows trailing quickly behind her. Bending her ankle in a reverse motion Aryx fell to the side, eyes shut tight as a light rumbling sound crept through her senses.
"Please go away."
Gasping, Aryx shot up from her rested position on the couch. Sweat rivulets sliding down the back of her neck. Placing a shaking hand on her cheek, she looked up at the TV, clicking the power button on the remote, placing her in darkness. Shifting her position, she flicked on the lamp next to her, slipping her feet into slippers she got up, walking into the kitchenette of her apartment. Watching the water pour into her glass she looked over her shoulder skeptically, feeling a twinge of fear.
"I keep having the same dream, why?"
Aryx turned the water off, moving over towards her window. Her room sat on the 15th story of the high-rise, giving her a clean view of the city below, thriving with nightlife and bright neon signs advertising clubs and bars. Scanning over the scenery, she sighed leaning against the wall. It had been 5 years since she helped with the destruction of the darkness. Teamed with Sora and the others, they would rid the universe of the evil that kept it balancing on a thin line of fabricated peace. She had not contacted any of them since that day. Her world reappeared, emerging from the darkness that once clouded her home. She never had the chance to tell Sora how she truly felt about him, that was the one thing she regretted, the one thing she wish she had the confidence to say. She was a nobody, never knowing who her human form was. She assumed by now Kairi had been going out with Kairi. If she ever saw them, again she was sure she would never get the chance to express her feelings. Knowing Sora had found true love would be enough for her to be happy, even if she was not the one to grant such a wondrous gift.
Sighing she sat her glass down, opening the door to her bedroom. Standing in the door way she stared blankly at the dim moonlight shining through the slats in her blinds. Laying back on her bed she rolled under the covers, closing her eyes. Tomorrow she'd try, she'd try to find the friends that met so much to her.
A/N: I know this is short, the next chapters will be much longer. I hope everyone enjoys this and the coming events that will soon take place in my story.
