Yang lay on the floor, motionless, but still breathing. Neo was at her side, estoc drawn with a cheshire grin plastered to her face. Despite her intentions, it didn't waver in the slightest.
Roman had told her that there were intruders on the train, specifically team RWBY. Neo remembered them well, despite only seeing them for a minute. She remembered Yang the most vividly, mainly because her actions in combat were so easy to read, in her eyes, at least.
The two had fought again for a much longer time. Neo had taken her down effortlessly, even taunting her when she got the chance, and now Yang was down for the count. She was chosen to work with Cinder solely based on the fact that she always finished the job and got things done the way they were supposed to. She was so efficient, it was a deadly trait.
Neo could feel the chuckle rumbling in her throat as she plunged her estoc in Yang's chest without much thought or hesitation. The sound of splitting flesh and leaking blood was music to her ears, so she went for another go for her pleasure. She ripped the sword clean out of Yang's body and stabbed her again, this time in her abdomen. She saw Yang's breath hitch before completely stopping.
Neo's grin only grew more at the sight, practically splitting her face in half. She cackled as she moved the weapon around in the fresh, crimson wound, the squishy noises fuelling her madness.
She enjoyed this, yet she didn't know why.
Neo's head whipped to the side, a slash mark on her cheek next to her nose. She yanked her estoc out of Yang, looking up.
Raven Branwen appeared, her arm out to the side as she clutched her sword firmly. It was she who attacked Neo.
The ice cream girl smirked at her, poking her tongue out to the side, catching a trail of blood, the coppery taste filling her mouth as she brought her tongue back. She sheathed her sword and twirled her umbrella a few times before resting it on her shoulder, her body shuddering with laughter.
Raven glared at her through her mask as she sheathed her own sword as well, about to infuse the weapon with dust and engage in battle.
Neo simply smiled sweetly, gesturing to Yang as if to say 'be my guest' before disappearing in a flash.
Yang was dead, and Raven was too frustrated with Neo to do anything about it.
She was too late, she failed her mission.
