a/n hi everyone, I am back! I hope you enjoy this one. It wasn't one of my best, I don't think. Enjoy anyway, and review. No flames, please.

Colours of love

Loving him is like driving a new Maserati down a dead-end street

Faster than the wind, passionate as sin, ending so suddenly

Loving him is like trying to change your mind once you're already flying through the free fall

Like the colors in autumn, so bright just before they lose it all

Holly Short, LEPRecon captain was in love with Artemis Fowl II, a criminal. She knew it, instinctually. He couldn't know of course. No one could. She betted that Artemis didn't even reciprocate. No, he couldn't know. She would carry this secret to the grave. She compared loving Artemis to driving one of Foaly's new shuttles. Amazing, a new experience. Her love for Artemis was like being in free fall during a coredive.

Losing him was blue like I'd never known

Missing him was dark grey all alone

Forgetting him was like trying to know somebody you never met

But loving him was red

Loving him was red

Losing Artemis that time, after he defeated Opal, when his empty, blue and hazel eyes stared up at her, blankly. She felt like her world was shattering into millions of pieces. Everything seemed blue, somber without him.

Touching her was like realizing all you ever wanted was right there in front of you

Memorising her was as easy as knowing all the words to your old favorite song

Fighting with her was like trying to solve a crossword and realizing there's no right answer

Regretting her was like wishing you never found out that love could be that strong

Artemis Fowl II did in fact, reciprocate Holly's feelings. Actually, he didn't believe Holly felt the same way about him that he did about her. Every time he touched her, every time they hugged, held hands, every time she touched him on the shoulder, it felt natural, yet giving him a jolt, like thunder. He had her every feature memorised, her hazel eyes, her fiery hair, and her equally fiery personality. He could draw her in his sleep. Fighting with her was like trying to find the end of pi, impossible, even for him. Regretting meeting her, and subsequently kidnapping her, was a paradox, on one hand, he regrets ever hurting her, on the other, if he hadn't, they would have never met.

Losing her was blue like I'd never known

Missing her was dark grey all alone

Forgetting her was like trying to know somebody you never met

But loving her was red

Oh, red

Watching her die on Hybras was deep, electric blue, like his eyes, the colour of the tears he cried for her. Missing her made him turn back into that cruel, emotionless Artemis, the one who kidnapped her. Forgetting her was like getting on the wrong side of his manservant, Butler, painful. Loving her was blood, rich red. A beautiful colour. He knew this because her loved her, Artemis loved Holly Short.

Artemis stepped out of the car, thinking these thoughts as he strode towards E1, Tara. He stopped in front of the holographic cow. He saw a heat haze in front of him. "Hello, Holly." Her name gave him a jolt. Holly un shielded. "Artemis, we need to talk." She said this, right at the moment that Artemis said "Holly, we need to talk." "You go first." She said, after a peal of laughter. "No, ladies first" Artemis retorted. Classic Artemis, ever the gentleman, Holly thought. She sighed, defeatedly. "I, umm, Iloveyou." She blurted. Artemis looked stunned, before grabbing the front of her suit, and, pulling her forwards, pressed his lips against hers. She was stunned momentarily. Then she reacted, fisting her hands in his hair, pulling him closer. Her dreams had come true. He was thinking along the same lines. Eventually, they pulled apart for breath. They both grinned at each other. "I love you too, Holly." He said, smiling, for once not his vampiric smirk. They kissed once more. Yes, loving each other was red.
