Chapter 01: The Beautiful Angel
A/N: Hello everyone, this story has been abandoned for ages (four years!) and I believe it's time to take up the mantle of this story once more. Since my other popular fanfiction, The Purple Samurai, has been rewritten and is coming to an end, I decided to give this fanfiction a revamp as well. This story was meant to be extremely short, and I hope I keep it that way. Now enough of me babbling and enjoy the revamp of Power Rangers Samurai: Fairy Tail.
Moonlight glinted through the thick canopy of the trees and reflected in the crystal clear lake. Stars glittered the darkened sky, crickets chirping breaking the silence. A soft breeze blew on the luscious green grass that was covered in a slight dew, the water droplets sparkling against the ground.
In the distance of the forest, lake and luscious green grass, stood a huge victorian style castle. A large wooden gate surrounded it, protecting the royalty from the city below them. The flag of the royals last name Hurst, danced along with the wind. Knights guarded the castle throughout the day and night, only letting certain people enter the castle.
Below them, was one of the wealthiest cities of Japan. It was largely known as a large trade route, convenience of the river that cut through the city. In the valley before getting to the castle, was a large field of wild flowers, courtesy of the townspeople, who planted them in honor of their King and Queen.
In the middle of the field, sat a giggling blonde girl with golden locks tied in twin tails. Her long yellow dress dragged on the floor and a small tiara sat graciously on her head. Her smile shone brightly like the tiara she wore as she hid against the bright colored flowers.
The young girl slowly peered between the flowers, sneaking around without making the slightest sound. She noticed no one was around her and stood up straight, her head poking out of the tall flowers. Suddenly someone grabbed her from behind and she let out a small scream, ending in a fit of giggles.
"I found you!" declared a young boy's voice. The young blonde haired girl turned to the sandy haired colored boy who smiled at her. The young boy was dressed in royal attire as well, his green eyes shining in happiness. The young boy tickled the girl, making her laugh.
"Stop it!" she giggled, trying to remove his hands from her stomach. "I won't ever stop!" the young boy teased, tickling her more. "Stop it Jayden!" the blonde haired girl laughed. "Fine, fine!" Jayden replied defeated. He got off her and laid beside her as both children glanced at the night sky.
A silence engulfed them before the young princess smiled. "Jayden, you'll always find me, even when I'm lost and lonely right?" The question made the latter smile as well. "Of course, I'll always find you!" He pointed at the sky glittered in stars and stated, "I'll find you, just like how the sailors find the North star to find their way home."
The young princess smile at his response and glanced at him, blushing slightly. "Friends forever?" Jayden raised his pinky at her, who entwined it with her's. "Always."
"Princess Serena! Prince Jayden! Where are you?!" came a shout.
Princess Serena rolled her eyes and looked at Jayden. "Seems we have to go back." Jayden sighed, his smile disappearing off his face. "I guess so." The young blonde haired girl got off the ground and dusted herself off, extending her hand towards him. "Let's go before mom yells at me and makes me change my sister's diapers!" Serena made a gagging face, making Jayden laugh.
The young prince took her hand and got to his feet. "Sucks for you!" Jayden stated, sticking out his tongue. "Don't go there," Serena threatened, placing her hands on her hips. "I won't," Jayden replied playfully. "I'll race you to the castle!"
"Hey!" Serena yelled, seeing Jayden rush up the stone stairs that led to the castle. "No fair!"
Both children raced each other, laughing as they ran. They reached the castle gates, their smiles disappearing when they saw several knights looking at them annoyed. "Do you know what time it is, Prince Jayden, Princess Serena?"
"We know," Serena replied rolling her and waved it off with her hand. "Someone could have kidnapped me, blah, blah." "They wouldn't have done that, since I was around!" Prince Jayden boasted, mimicking taking out a sword and slashed the empty air.
The knights chuckled at his response while they opened the gates. "The Queen is worried," one of them told Princess Serena. "You should go to her immediately." "We will," Jayden nodded as Serena took his hand and pulled him inside.
The two children ran inside the large castle, passing by several large rooms and went up the stairs. There, they found two women, speaking to each other. "Mother!" Princess Serena called out, running to a blonde haired woman. "Oh, Serena!" Queen Ela replied, hugging her eldest daughter. "Where have you been?"
Serena turned to look at Prince Jayden, who was hugging his mother, Queen Aithne, queen of the Shiba Lands up in Northern Japan. "I was with Jayden, mother," Serena told her, glancing back at her. "Oh Serena," Queen Ela smile at her. "You had me very worried."
"Ela, our children are growing up," Queen Aithne began, glancing at the blonde haired woman. "Soon they'll be of wedding age…"
Queen Ela's eyes widened at this and stammered, "What do you mean, Aithne? You want them to…" "I believe Princess Serena, will be a great candidate to marry, my son, Jayden," Queen Aithne informed her, looking at her son, who blushed madly.
Queen Ela didn't know how to respond. The Shiba Royals were one of the most important families in Japan, if her daughter were to marry Jayden, they could unite the Hurst family with the Shiba family. "I'm deeply honored," Queen Ela replied slowly. "I would like to discuss this to my husband and my daughter first."
"As you wish," Queen Aithne nodded, taking Jayden's hand. "Then we must take our leave. We will leave you to rest." The Queen, along with her son, left the room, leaving Queen Ela and Serena alone. Queen Ela sighed, walking towards the window and clasped her hands together.
"Mother, will I have to be married to Jayden?" Serena asked softly, breaking the silence. Queen Ela turned to face Serena, who was looking at her mother, blushing. Queen Ela smiled at her and walked towards her daughter, taking her hands. "Only if that'll make you happy. But do not worry about that, my daughter, for that, it'll be a while before we think of marriage."
Princess Serena smiled.
Years Later
"Father!" yelled a young blonde teen. Her wavy blonde hair was tied into low twintails and she held a young woman's hand. "Father!"
Tears were streaming down her face, looking at the young woman before her. She was pale, weak and kept getting sicker by the days. Her eldest sister had gotten a disease two years ago, one that had no cure. She was frightened and helpless, just watching her sister slip away from life.
"Princess Emily," came a woman's voice. Emily's eyes widened and turned around to find her best friend, and servant, Mia. "What's wrong? Is Princess Serena…" "My sister! She's not waking up!" Emily cried out in pure panic. "Please, bring my father here!"
"Right away, Princess!" Mia nodded, bowing to her before leaving the room in a dash. Emily turned to her sister, who began to cough violently and slowly opened her eyes. Emily smiled and squeezed her sister's hand. "You've awoken!" "E-Emily," Serena whispered. "Jayden...where is….Jayden?"
"He's not here," Emily replied. "He left to the war against the Juzo's a few months ago." Serena's brown eyes filled with tears and Emily closed her eyes, tears slipping down her cheeks. "I need to see...Jayden….please….for the...last...time."
Emily's eyes widened up in horror and glanced at her sister in horror. "No, no! Don't say that!" Emily looked at her desperatly and yelled, "You're going to live! Promise me!"
"I can't promise on something…I won't be able to keep…" Serena whispered, gently squeezing Emily's hand. "I can tell….this will be my last few.. Weeks. I'm….not afraid." Serena weakly reached to touch Emily's face, who touched her hand. "You'll be….a great...princess….and queen."
Emily began to sob, closing her eyes hearing her sister. She felt someone touch her shoulder and turned to find the King along with the medic. "Emily," the King began, gently taking her by the arm and moved her away from Serena. The two watched as the medic checked over Serena, whose face grew more and more grief stricken. When he was finished, he approached the King, whispering something and shook his head.
Emily didn't need to hear what they were saying, because her heart knew what was happening. The Princess covered her mouth as the medic and her father spoke, more tears slipping down her face. She couldn't take it anymore and fled the room, her father calling out her name. She ran past her servant, Mia, who called out her name in surprise.
The young princess ran down the stairs and out the heavy wooden doors. She fled out the gates, making the knights call out in surprise. The Princess ran towards the flowered field that separated her home to the city and collapsed on her knees, sobbing uncontrollably.
The way her sister was speaking, the medics face all told her what she didn't want to believe.
Serena was going to die.
The blonde haired princess cried her soul out and after a while, she laid on the ground. She had exhausted herself and she had no more tears left to shed. She watched the sun rise in the sky, turning the blackened sky into an orange pink color.
The city below her began to hustle with people coming out their homes to prepare for the day. Emily slowly turned her head, hearing the noises below her and closed her eyes, anger filling every fiber of her body. How could they be so happy, knowing the Princess was going to die?
But how would they know?
In the city, a tall brunette woman came out her home, wearing a long purple dress that dragged on the floor. She smiled, taking in a deep breath and fixed her large hat on her head. She grabbed her basket to collect groceries and declared, "What a beautiful day!"
The young woman walked down the path that led to the market, beginning to look on what items to buy. As she choose her vegetables, she heard people scream and scatter out in alarm. She glanced up to find several people running towards her and skidded to one side to avoid the commotion. She heard a horse whine and the galloping of various horses.
Suddenly a jet black horse landed near her, making her grab her hat from flying off. The horse whined loudly, rising on it's back legs while clawing the air with the other two. The brunette smiled recognizing the rider: the handsome young man with brunette hair and beautiful lime green eyes. His name was Michael, but everyone called him Mike, for short. He was a thief that stole from the rich to give to the poor. All the girls in the city swooned over him, but Amanda, she was in love with him.
She sighed as the horse landed on all fours, while the knight's horses galloped towards him.
Mike turned to glance at the people who were staring at him before looking at Amanda. He smiled and winked at her before galloping away. The knights landed shortly after he left, their horses whining as they followed after Mike's trail.
Mia paced around the entrance of the castle, worry clawing her inside out. The Princess was nowhere to be seen and none of the knights had found her. When she was about to decide to leave the castle to find Emily, she heard the sound of metal clanking.
The young raven haired woman turned around, finding a dark skinned man standing in front of her. "Kevin," Mia breathed, her eyes wide in shock. The knight extended his arms to the side as the young woman embraced him tightly. "You're back!"
"Of course," Kevin murmured, hugging Mia back. "I missed you so much!" Sir Kevin, was one of the noblest knight in the whole kingdom of the Shiba Lands. He was Prince Jayden's right hand man and his best friend as well.
Mia released him and grinned at him lovingly. "How did it go?" she asked him. Sir Kevin and Prince Jayden had led a charge against the Juzo Family, one of the Shiba Family's enemies who refused to waver. They had been at war with each other for years, one refusing to lose to another.
The knight sighed in response but nodded. "We won, but we lost a lot of men." Mia touched Kevin's face, who had glanced at the ground sadly. "I can count myself lucky, you weren't one of those men that died." "We will honor them for fighting in the name of the Shiba Family," Kevin replied. He smiled at his fiance and asked, "What happened while I was gone?"
Mia glanced away nervously.
"Mia?" Kevin asked worriedly, his smile fading away. "Princess Serena's condition is getting worse," Mia replied. "And Princess Emily couldn't take it and ran off."
They heard a sword clatter and both turned around to see Jayden staring at them. His green eyes were filled with tears and his arm was on a sling. "Please, tell me Serena is still alive."
Mia nodded her eyes filling up with tears. "The medic declared that she doesn't have much time." Prince Jayden fell to his knees, causing Mia and Kevin to help him to his feet. "No," Prince Jayden whispered, clenching his jaw. "We are to marry next month! She cannot die!"
Mia glanced at Kevin, who looked at his Prince sadly. Jayden pulled his arm away from them and rushed up the steps before stopping. "Find Princess Emily." Kevin blinked in surprise and stated, "But your majesty, our men just…"
"Now," Prince Jayden seethed, not glancing at Kevin. Kevin nodded somely, bowing and left Mia by herself.
Prince Jayden continued up the stairs.
Mike was a thief with style. He didn't steal for himself, he stole for others who needed the money. People glorified him for it and he loved the attention.
He continued to ride away from the city into the forest, that was dangerously close to the castle. He pulled on the reigns of his horse, stopping him and glanced around the area. He couldn't ride deeper into the forest, if they found him in the Hurst Family territory, he would be easily caught. He could hear the knights getting closer to him, the thundering of the hooves echoing around him.
Mike got off his horse and landed on the ground, petting his horse. "Good boy. Tornado, run home!" His horse whined in response and galloped away from him.
Mike ran deeper into the forest, knowing it was risky to go into the Royal territory, but he had no other choice to shake off the knights following him.
They had no jurisdiction there.
The young brunette dived into the meadow of wildflowers and crawled away. He stopped in the middle of the meadow and heard the horses coming to a stop. "Where he go?" asked one of the knights. "If he dwelled into this territory, he'll be hanged," another responded. "We need to alert the royal knights."
Mike held his breath before hearing the horse's footsteps fade away. He exhaled in relief and slowly got to his feet. He glanced over the sunflowers trying to find which way out without getting close to the castle grounds.
He noticed something move in the wildflowers and squinted his eyes, finding a young blonde haired woman rise from the wildflowers. Her long blonde haired tied into twin tails flowed in the gentle morning breeze. She turned her head towards him, the sun's rays reflecting off her flawless skin. Her hazel eyes glinted in a soft light that made Mike's heartbeat drum against his chest. She wore a yellow dress that showed off her shoulders and Mike gaped in amazement.
She was beautiful.
White feathers floated towards him and Mike could've sworn that the girl had sprouted angel wings out her back.
