Geting Settled In

Right about now a small town comes into view. It was one of those simple towns located near dense woods and only a few miles away from the ocean.

As for the name of this place Gravity Falls. And right now a traveling bus drives by the one of signs saying :Welcome to Gravity Falls:.

Not to long after the bus makes a stop right at one of the local stops. Multiple people departed from the bus and one of them was a young boy.

He had long messy unkept blonde hair almost covering his silver colored eyes, pale skin meaning he didn't get out to much and bags underneath his eyes possibly meaning he rarely could catch any sleep. He wore a dirty black t shirt with a pair of jeans that had muddy leggings and finally a pair of sneakers that were equally dirty.

" So this is Gravity Falls... " the kid paused looking around his new surroundings taking it all in. Once he content of the area he reached into his left pocket pulling out a piece of paper that was nearly torn.

It Said:" Extra Hand at The Mystery Shack Wanted. "

" Alright... " the kid tucked it away. " ...now just got to find it. " As he pondered on about the question he noticed a short tubby African Amercian sheriff wearing a pair of sunglasses and from the looks of it he was defiantly a local.

" Excuse me sir? " the kid asked getting the Older male's attention. " Which way is to the Mystery Shack? "

" Just take head up the hill and you'll be on Gopher road. All you have to do is just follow the signs. You can't miss it kid. "

" Thank you sir " the kid said and headed in the direction he was told and was now on his way.

Two hours later...

After walking through at least three miles of forest, with the occasional few minute breaks to catch his breath, the kid had now arrived at the iconic Gravity Falls Mystery Shack.

The kid kind of figured it would be a bit bigger though. Main reason why was because the place itself was a rather large worn down looking wooden building with a bunch of stuff in the area trying to give it a "mysterious and magical feeling". But he didn't really see it, all he cared about was his mission.

" Well, this the place... " the kid noted making sure he had the right address and took in a deep breath and exhaled. " Here's goes nothing.." The kid then proceeded to walk towards the porch entrance of the building and as he did so he watched the S of the building falling down making the word spell Hack. Once the kid was at the door he hesitantly knocked three times on the door.

But no one came so he tried again and then got a response with someone opening the door to reveal an old man.

The elder standing before him was without a doubt most likely 59 years of age with a slouched posture and a noticeable large pinkish red nose shaped like a pear. He wore a set of glasses, a maroon colored fez with a crescent symbol. The rest of his clothing consisted of a black suit with the jacket buttoned he also had a white dress shirt underneath the jacket with a red bow tie around his neck and finally big brown shoes.

" Hmm? " the old gruff old man asked looking around. " Whosever out there better beat it! . "

" Uh...excuse me sir? Excuse me " the kid spoke up getting the older males attention and looked down. " Hi. "

" Get lost kid were closed " the old man said in boredom trying to close the door but the kid stopped the door from closing.

" No-no-no! I'm not here as a customer sir. I came because I noticed an add in a newspaper saying that you were looking to hire? "

This confused the old man who reopened the door causing the blonde to back up letting him look down at the kid. " Add? What add? I don't remember putting up any add " the kid quickly reached into his pocket and brought out the piece of paper showing it to him.

" It said so right here " the kid clarified.

" Let me see that... " he rudely grabbed it out of the kid's hand and inspected it making sure it was legit. " Oh this thing? I was just about to take it off. " He then gestured him inside.

" Don't make me stand here all day move it " the kid quickly got inside with the older man locking the door so no one else would annoy him any further.

The kitchen now comes into view with the kid sitting across from the older male.

" What is your name sir? "

" Stan Pines. What's yours? "

" C-Adam Winters. "

" How old are you kid? " the older man asked.

" I'm 11 years old. " Cooper replied making the older man put his finger underneath his chin. " You live around here? "

" No sir. Just arrived at Gravity Falls today.

" Why? " Stan pondered.

" I'm a bit of a wanderer. "

" So basically you're an orphan? " the older male inquired receiving a nod making him groan in frustration. " What is up with the outside world nowadays? Look kid, don't go thinking just because your an orphan gives you a free card to slack off. "

" I understand " the blonde quickly replied. " I'll do whatever needs to be done. "

" Big talk so far...can't say that I like it " Stan noted to himself. " How much you expect to be paid? "

" five dollars an hour " Adam quickly replied.

" Okay your hired. " Stand said taking the boy by surprise that he instantly accepted and extended out his right hand for a shake. " Saves me the trouble of not having to pay the minimum wage, so you can start tomorrow. " he said and then sniffed into the air. " But first, take a shower, " he said in pinching his nose with his left hand and trying to sway the stink away with his right.

" I smell that bad? " Adam asked in surprise.

Stan raised an eyebrow " Yeah, what are you nose blind? " the old man asked.

" As a matter of fact I am. Born with no sense of smell at all, I can't even smell myself. " Adam quickly replied again.

" Even better! Now I have someone to clean out the bathroom and outhouses around the Mystery Shack! But seriously you reek like a wet dog " the older male said jabbing his thumb out of the kitchen.

" Witch door is it to the bathroom? " Adam asked

" First door to the right when you go to the stairs " Stan replied.

" Thank you! " Adam replied and headed to the bathroom to enjoy a long hot shower.

As he was doing so Stan face palmed himself. " Why did I even hire him? The kid obviously has a secret, heck maybe he's even a runaway. " The old man asked himself this question and sighed in defeat. " But whom I to judge? I got my own secrets to. "

The Next day after Adam was hired for a position at the Mystery Shack the eleven year old made himself at home up at the attic with his clothes washed. It was decided that he would later get his own choice of clothes from the gift shop, mainly because Stand had been trying to sell some of the stuff for months since no tourist would buy them.

As of right Adam had now just eaten some breakfast and now wore his freshly washed clothes and was now standing before his new boss.

" Alright Kid, since you're new here, and I'm a busy man I'm gonna have Soos show you the ropes how things work around here. "

" Okay " Adam was quick to reply.

" Good attitude and answers really short. I like that " Stan said now walking off leaving the eleven year old by himself.

" Wait a minute...whose this Soos guy supposed to look like? " Adam pondered and then heard a banging and clanging noise coming from outside. " Ah, that might be him " the blonde noted to himself and made his way outside to see a decorated golf cart out in the front yard with someone working on it from his point of view.

Adam then made his way around the golf cart and saw the outline of workers seemingly large stomach. " Hey excuse me? " Adam called out tapping the person presumably to be Soos.

" Huh? One sec..." he replied getting out from where he was working and stood up showing that Soos was indeed large. He had light peach fair skin and buck teeth similar to a beaver and a neck larger then his head but it seemed to be obscured by his double chin. As for his clothing it consisted of a light brown cap, shoes matching in color, beige shorts and a jade colored t shirt with a poorly painted question mark on the front.

" Oh! You're that kid that Mr Pine's hired yesterday. Nice to meet a new employee! " the large obese man greeted saluting the blonde that he awkwardly returned while at the same time amused by his friendly personality despite his age. " I'm Soos. "

" Adam. Nice to meet you to " he replied shaking the man child's hand. " So? What are we doing today? "

" Well first things off, Mr Pines told me to give you haircut because he commented you look a poodle in need of a groom. " Adam chuckled at the way he said it.

" That actually works. And I would love a hair cut. "

" Hop on " Soos said tapping onto a nearby chair with the blonde doing as he was told.

" You know there's a barber shop down town, right? " Adam noted while tying a towel around his neck while Soos grabbed the buzzer making sure it would work.

" Eh, Mr Pine's said do it anyways, saves him a penny. Least that's how he said it. "

" Where are you from? " Soos asked but the blonde was a little reluctant to reply making him shrug his shoulders. " Oh, never mind. " Soos said and then changed the topic. " How old are you anyways? "

" I'm 11. "

" Cool, I was just twelve when I started working at the Mystery Shack. "

" Seriously? " Adam inquired a bit surprised. " How old are you now? "

" 19. "

" Wow, so you've been working here for 7 years? Even though you were only twelve? "

" Yup, best job ever. I'd even work for free. "

" Okay. So what do you do here? "

Soos began to list off his deeds. " Let's see, I'm the handy man I make some of the attractions. "

" Oh yeah, that's right Stan said that this place is a tourist trap. Don't it seem a little farfetched to be doing that though? "

" Nah its actually kind of fun " Soos said and switched on the buzzer. " You want buzz cut or bald? "

" I ain't Bruce Willis. Just trim out the front to get the hair out of my eyes, not short though.

" Okay " Soos replied and started his work.

...

" All done " Soos said putting the buzzer down and then handed Adam a mirror. " What do you think dude? "

Adam was blown away. His long blonde hair nearly covering his eyes had now been trimmed giving him a much more good looking appearance. " Soos this is amazing, now I know where I can get my hair cuts for free " Adam said taking off the towel giving him a high five before shaking himself to get rid of the leftover hair he had leftover.

" Okay Adam. Ready for the tour? "

" Heck yeah " the blonde replied and with that his new found pal gave him the tour of the whole Mystery Shack. The museum featured many various weird supernatural creatures on display which Adam found to be a little fun. Soos also showed him the layouts of the building such as the kitchen, living room, parlor room and his definition of a break room that was just a whole system of pipes.

" And that's the end of the tour! " Soos declared as it now shows them near the gift shop. " What'd you think? "

" I take back what I thought the other day. Place is actually bigger on the inside. "

" Soos! " Stan called out making both employees stand up straight.

" We need a new attraction so start working! "

" You got it boss! " Soos saluted making Stan nod in approval and headed somewhere else.

" So is this pretty much normal? "

" Yup. Hey I know. Dude? Wanna help me make it? "

" Sure " the blonde replied and began to follow Soos. " Also might I make a suggestion? "

" What do you have mind? " Once the question was asked Adam who brought out a little sketch book. " Ooooh " the man child said in awe with the kid chuckling away.

Then...

" Soos! Kid! Where are yo-whoa! " the older man freaked out now seeing one of the newest attractions Soos had been working on showing a monster with a set of wings, two front heads of both a lion and goat with a snake like tail.

" Soos you out did yourself again! " Stand said praising his handyman patting him on the back. " The even dumber tourists will pay big bucks to see this! " the old man said already picturing how much money he would make and gladly not giving them any refunds.

" Thank you Mr Pines, but it wasn't my idea. It was Adams " Soos said pointing to Adam who was making sure it was ready for show making sure everything was ready.

" Hey kid! " Stand called out snapping the blonde out of line of thoughts and stood up straight.

" Yes sir? " Adam asked as Stan approached him and then slapped on an employee name tag on the right side of Adams shirt with his name on it.

" I'm defiantly keeping you now! I thought of actually kicking you out about ten seconds ago. So welcome aboard! " Stan praised Adam making him smile and then heard a bus screeching to a halt.

" Perfect timing. Adam run the gift shop! Soos do other stuff " Stan said snapping his fingers with Soos patting his new friend on the back. " So...we friends? "

" Totally " the blonde replied with a smirk.

" Get to work! " Stan roared out breaking the moment and headed over to address the tourists while Adam gave Soos a fist bump and rushed towards the gift shop to run the cash register while at the same time figuring out how it works, cause he needed to pronto.

( Even though this place is run down...I'm gonna like it here ) the teen chuckled looking forward to seeing what the future would offer. But what he didn't know was the future was indeed gonna through many weird things his way that his life would never be the same again.

As he continued to figure out how to work the cash register through a pair of solid white eyes appeared through his shadow blinking once as it disapeared.

So? How'd you all like this? A bit different from what I usually do right? I decided to do this cause why not? I actually liked Gravity Falls when I first watched it, heck I get the humor and on top of that I'm able to do something a little bit fun.

But this beginning is just an experiment. Would you all like to continue seeing what will happen? If so then please give me a reply and your thoughts.

This whole story will focus on the main story along with some custom made side chapters that I think should have been used in the cartoon since a lot of it inlvolves the paranormal. So there will be other ideas aside from the story ;)

I'm gonna be at my grandmothers for a few days starting tomorrow so I'm hoping that there are some that want to see this story continue on.
