Scorily

You can count on Me

Scorpius crawled to the hidden corridor on the fourth floor, tears silently welling in his eyes.

He hated it. The looks the students were giving him, the sneers that quickly replayed in his head over and over again, "Good thing your mother died. You're the only family that hasn't suffered at all."

Oh, if only that'd have been true, he thought.

He just couldn't take it anymore; his dad ignoring him, the things people tell him, the loneliness. Of course he had Al and the rest of the Potter family, but he wanted his family back again, he needed an anchor to this earth.

Quietly, a scarlet haired girl walked in and slid her arms around the shocked Slytherin's chest. "Hey Scor." Scorpius lifted his head up from his arms and managed to shoot her a weak smile.

"You're not supposed to be here," He stated, looking at the fourth year in curiosity, before remembering the tears in his eyes. He felt the blood rushing to his face, slightly coloring the pale skin he had. Scorpius wiped the tears, feeling ashamed at himself. "I- I'm sorry you had to see me like that. I'll just- leave now," he croaked awkwardly.

Lily closed her eyes and put her head on his shoulder. "No. Don't leave."

"Oh, um. Do you need to talk about something?" Scorpius asked, confusedly. He didn't mind the youngest Potter's presence, he was just curious as to why he was joining his pity party.

"Rose." She said that one word as if it explained everything. Scorpius nodded and awkwardly patted her back.

It was a known fact that Lily Luna hated Rose Granger Weasley, even though they were cousins. And apparently, the feeling was mutual.

Scorpius had kept his distance from the Granger-Weasley. He hadn't done or said anything to offend her, but he did get his fair share of badmouthing and insults from her.

Of course, it wasn't that often that they'd exchange insults. However, the dislike Rose felt towards her youngest cousin was the same as how much the Wizarding world thought he was Voldemort's son.

Lily burst out crying. Her beautiful Autumn colored hair covered half her face, while the other half was tucked behind her ear. Her golden eyes were bloodshot and rimmed with red, and Scorpius only just noticed the little cut beside her right eye. Her face was turning red, as she flushed, remembering Scorpius was there and she pushed away slightly.

"Oh!" She squeaked softly. "I wet your shirt."

Scorpius laughed. "Really? Here we are, hunched in a corridor no one knows about, sobbing our eyes out for various reasons, and all you say is, 'I wet your shirt?'" He wiped a tear from her pink cheek. "Lils. You really do know how to make my day."

She gave him a small grin, as she slowly wiped the back of her hand against her soaked face. "Any reason why you're here, then?"

His smile fell off as he looked at his hands. "I don't want to talk about it."

Lily nodded. "Ok. You don't have to tell me why for me to comfort you." She leaned back, putting her head on the crook of his neck.

Scorpius felt a slight tug at his lips. How did he get so lucky?

As Lily's eyes started fluttering, Scorpius smiled fully. "I love you Lily Luna Potter."

"I love you too Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy," she muttered in a dazed reply.
