LITO: Infinity Rising

Prologue: A Year's Passing

It had been a year since the first time the friendly race of aliens have invaded Zootopia, and the

whole city seemed to benefit from their arrival. They helped save their city from some great and

imminent threats, and while they didn't seek fame or fortune, the city had repaid

them enough. A wing for them was added to the Natural History museum, the book World's

Beyond: Planets and What You Need to Know was being published and copied for those who

were interested in other planets beyond Zootopia and Mobius, but the greatest tribute was

about to be unveiled for the public to see. That's where we find Chief William Bogo of the

Zootopia Police Department, or ZPD for short. He was the overseer of security for the event and

had two of his best cops, Nicholas Wilde (a red fox) and Judy Hopps (a grey-furred bunny) as

the main security leaders of the event. Although security wasn't exactly needed for this event, as

the intent of the immense crowd was to pay respect, Mayor Richard Talon (a falcon) decided

that a few cops for security would be beneficiary just in case. The Chief had a great seat for the

event in City Central Memorial Park, which was where the statue was to be unveiled. As he was

waiting for the ceremony to begin, he saw a slender, tan figure walking towards him. "Hola

Chief Bogo. So nice of you to make it." Gazelle, the popular pop artist and philanthropist, politely

spoke in her smooth Latin-American voice. The Chief turned and smiled back at her. "Nice to be

here Madame Gazelle." he replied. "Please, call me Gazelle." she rebutted. Chief Bogo

remembered how she helped Mobius's greatest hero, Sonic the Hedgehog, defeat an evil threat

known as the Kyman Klaw, who stole the Chaos Emeralds, artifacts that can make their bearers

unbelievably powerful to try and take over Zootopia. But thanks to her act of love, which

beckoned the emeralds to resurrect Sonic, he single-handedly defeated the Klaw and sent him

to a portal, where he eventually fell into a river of lava on a planet known as the Lost Hex.

During this time, a romantic relationship blossomed between Zootopia's brightest star and

Mobius's greatest hero that had seen several twists and turns, but the two have always

remained stalwart for each other. Before Sonic came, Gazelle already was caring and

compassionate towards others, especially those who have been less fortunate as she was.

However, when Sonic came, it was revealed how she never really experienced the

hopelessness of being stripped of everything. When she betrayed her friend by breaking a

promise to remain loyal, and to see her friend die because of that choice, she knew what it was

like to be stripped, for she was stripped of the greatest riches ever known. Not fragile like jewels,

not replaceable like her albums, not perishable like money or corrodible like gold; but something

far more valuable. The riches she was stripped of were her heart, her will and her passion. Now,

a year after these events, she was grateful that events were favorable when Sonic forgave her

for the betrayal and confirmed that the two were still indeed friends. As a result, she held a

greater focus on her philanthropy and increased her charity work, but instead of decreasing her

wealth, she still increased in blessings given in return. However, her increased happiness didn't

come from extra possessions, but rather from knowing that she was serving beyond herself,

now fully appreciating and caring for the well-being of others. After the chief and the singer

finished their small talk, Richard finally stepped to the podium, which silenced the excited

masses. "Ladies and gentlemen," the mayor spoke, with optimism in his voice. "A year ago, a

race only known as the Mobians came to our planet, in peace, harmony and willingly saved our

city from the disasters caused by Dawn Bellwether in the Night Howlers Case and the ominous

threats of the Kyman Klaw." he paused for a brief moment to let those words resonate in the

minds of the grateful citizens. Then he continued. "Before they left, I asked their leader Sonic

the Hedgehog what I can do for their race and he said he was content in saving our race and no

reward was required." Gazelle smiled at that remark, feeling the love her friend constantly put on

display fill her with joy once again. "I then knew I couldn't grant the wishes of all Mobians, so I

asked the three that were there one by one. The fox, Tails, said the same thing as Sonic, but

when I got to the white hedgehog, who decided to live in Zootopia where he now resides, told

me and I quote, 'Even though we don't deserve anything from this planet, I humbly ask that

we are treated with respect.

Not for how what we have done, but who we are and what we represent.'"

Judy, who was next to Nick, guarding a statue hopping up and down in excitement about the

positive reputation that her friend was receiving. Nick was happy as well, but he remained calm,

cool and collected as the mayor continued the speech. "You know Carrots, it's too bad your

friend had to be on routine patrol today. Otherwise, he would've seen his wish come true." the

fox pointed out. Judy sighed dreamily for a moment. The first time she met Silver came through

a misunderstanding. Silver, curious about the concept of a bunny cop, started to critique how

she was 'beat' by Sonic in catching the Klaw while in reality, there was no such competition.

However, as Silver started to prove that he was not a self-centered jerk, but in fact a loyal and

committed companion, she began to see a whole other side of the white hedgehog, as his purity

attracted her to him, as the two have remained best friends ever since. She then responded to

Nick. "Yeah, I know. I wish he was here too, but I'm sure he'll see his wish fulfilled."

Funny you should mention that Judy, because at the ZPD HQ Gym…

Silver was running on a treadmill, preparing in case a live call were to come in for assistance.

The day was uneventful, and Silver enjoyed that, but he also enjoyed providing justice for the

new world he had called his home. Just then, an obese cheetah came sprinting through the

door. "Silver, you are not gonna believe what I just heard." Benjamin Clawhauser said, yanking

Silver from the treadmill. Luckily for him, he used his telekinesis to pull the kill switch before his

overly excited friend grabbed his hand and yanked him off the treadmill into Chief Bogo's office.

Once they were there, they watched the whole speech. To say Silver was impressed with his

wish for his kind coming true was very accurate. He then saw the set switch to showing Judy for

a bit. He thought how grateful he was to have the best partner, ally and friend he could ever ask

for. Besides being excellent cop partners with her and Nick, there was a lot more to this bunny

than what met the eye. Her boundless energy and optimistic attitude made her fun and exciting

to be around. She wasn't overly fancy or eloquent like most ladies he met; but she still proved to

be very kind, respectful, honest, loyal and always provided Silver with good advice and input.

What Silver enjoyed most about their friendship however, was how flexible she was. No, not

that type of elastic flexible. Whether he was going through a rough time at the police

department, made the same mistake over and over again, or even when it was something really

great that happened; she always seemed to accept Silver for Silver. She made him feel like he

can always be himself around her. She made no lofty expectation, no love based on conditions

and asked for nothing in return. What she did ask for was to always be the brave, kind and loyal

friend he always was. He always was himself, and when he sought to improve, Judy didn't stop

him, but reminded him it wasn't necessary. As Silver and Benjamin watched the tarp over the

statue of the Mobians unveiled, Benjamin asked his white hedgehog friend a personal question.

"So Silver, did you get it yet?" he asked Silver, who showed him a box with a beautiful diamond

ring inside. Silver and Judy also made occasional visits back to her hometown of Bunnyborrow

to visit her family. On a more recent trip he made alone to the Burrows, he gained her parent's

blessing to marry his friend. Her parents were happy to see Judy excited to have a friend who

fully understood her. As they got to know each other better, they could easily see why Silver was

a great choice for Judy to marry. With new biological treatments that can make it possible for

interspecies couples to have offspring, the future was as bright as the diamond ring Silver now

held. Clawhauser gasped in excitement, happy with the positive steps his two friends were

making. Their attention was now turned towards the tv when it looked like the mayor was about

to speak again, but they were somewhat surprised to see the chief next to him. "Now then, I

have a very special surprise that will further benefit our citizens. As you know, our brilliant police

chief has been loyal to all of us throughout his struggles in protecting Zootopia. Unfortunately,

Mayor Lionheart failed to trust him enough to ask for his approval or help to cure the savage

animals of the Night Howlers case and Dawn Bellewether nearly had him working to divide

Zootopia before she was arrested. I will be the first to admit, that he has been disrespected and

untrusted by high authority, but we know better, don't we? We have a leader, whose tough

exterior and strong heart, work constantly day and night, to ensure that we can remain safe."

Many cheers of approval and acclamation spread throughout the audience before they calmed

down to hear the rest of the speech. "So Zootopia, today, we are here to show this noble hero

that we do trust him and we will respect him. So put your hands together for Commissioner

William James Bogo." the audience in the crowd roared, trumpeted, cheered and applauded in

approval as Commissioner Bogo stood tall and with confidence. "What?!" Silver and Ben

shouted simultaneously as they looked at each other with shocked expressions after hearing the

report.

Later that night… At the ZPD HQ…

The report, as Bogo told the cops at his party later was true. He had been promoted to Police

Commissioner of Zootopia, which meant he was the head of overseeing all operations of the

ZPD. It also meant he had full say on what cases the ZPD should or shouldn't take, decide who

should stay and leave on the force and imply laws and regulations for the ZPD to follow. The

candidates for the new police chief, as were discussed by himself and Mayor Talon, were Ben

Clawhauser, Nick Wilde and KZ Eagleton. As a result of a vote by the police department, KZ

was to become the new chief while Bogo resided in his new position. It was then that Silver,

clutching his box with the ring like a good luck charm, proceeded to take Judy out the door of

the party to the memorial, carrying her bridal style while flying with his telekinesis. He landed

and placed her gently down next to the newly-dedicated statute. "Whoa, I enjoy a little night

riding here and there, but that was certainly unexpected." Judy remarked, shocked at the

unpredictability of the actions Silver had taken. He smiled. "Well, it's a party. I thought I'd get

you a little present." He quipped, as he retrieved the box that he wrapped after the tv

announcement but before Bogo's party. The wrapping was a beautiful, sparkling grey paper tied

with a beautiful purple ribbon to somewhat match the radiance of its recipient. However, what

Silver didn't see coming was a bullet speeding by, knocking the gift from out of his hand and

near the statue. He then saw the shooter, a middle aged crocodile run off. Silver knew that he

had planned the proposal for a while now, but if he went back to get the ring, the croc could

come back to kidnap Judy. So he grabbed the crocodile with his powers and slammed him

against a giant quill from a statue of Sonic that knocked out the croc unconscious. Judy was

shocked. She hadn't seen Silver fight with such ruthless rage. When he worked with the ZPD,

he would use as little telekinesis as possible, unless otherwise necessary, and even if the

situation did call for it, he was more even-tempered and didn't try to fatally wound his enemies.

But to see this much rage inside of him, especially when after knocking out the first croc he went

after the second one that took advantage of the diversion to steal her present, made Judy

anxious, worried and upset. At the same time Silver followed him into the sewers, Judy

immediately got on her phone and frantically tapped the ZPD number. "Hello, if anyone can hear

me, I need backup. I have a croc who's unconscious after helping another croc steal something

from Silver." The commissioner calmly handled the situation on the other end. "Well, if Silver's

with you, then the situations well enough under control." This however, did not help Judy calm

down any better. "That's just it though. Silver's acting insane. He nearly impaled the suspect and

he's in a mad pursuit after the croc that stole the present he was gonna give me. Please hurry!"

Commissioner Bogo snapped into attention after hearing the whole situation. "Alright, I'll have

Chief Eagleton send in a squad right away. Where is Silver now?!"

Funny you should ask Commissioner. Meanwhile, in a sewer about a few feet behind the

Mobian statutes…

Thanks to the timing of the diversion, and the fact that he wasn't prepared to go on a sewer

safari, gave the crocodile that stole his ring an advantage over him in the pursuit. He felt lost,

figuratively and literally as he struggled with what to do. He considered going up to tell Judy, but

he wanted to keep his proposa and He he couldn't let that croc, that thief, ruin his plans

to win over the one he loved the most. He knew he couldn't give up now, but he had no idea

where he should go next. It was then he heard somebody lifting open the sewer lid behind him.

He rapidly turned to see who it was…

Meanwhile… Near the statute…

As the last of the unit arrived to help Silver, Judy couldn't help but worry about what could have

possibly happened to her friend. She didn't expect him to just snap and become all mad. "What

could have possibly happened that made him snap?" she thought internally. Her mind raced

through several possibilities that would make other cops react in a similar manner. Being

overworked, PTSD, any number of things. However her mind wasn't on why it could have

happen, but where the hedgehog was now.

Meanwhile… In the sewers…

It was revealed to Silver that the figures were merely ZPD co-workers that were there to help

recover the ring. Silver devised a plan that had each set of the 15 cops (including Silver) there

to split up to cover each of the three possible tunnels the croc could have traveled down. Silver,

Rick Badgerton, Brock Bruinsely, Omar Frogg and Francine the Elephant all went down the

middle tunnel where after chasing the croc through the sewers until they met a family of

crocodiles in an enlarged area of the city's sewers. The only lighting there was was a small

propane lantern used by the crocs to huddle around to see each other and for warmth. "So

boys, what were you all up to today and what was with that gunshot we heard?" the rough

Southern accent of who apparently was the father of the two boys Silver was faced with earlier.

Silver made sure to

record the conversation unobserved while hiding in the darkness to his advantage. One of the

croc kids then spoke up. "Well pa, ya know how we've been stuck in these sewers for such a

long time, so when we saw that white hedgehog get a pure quartz weddin' rang while we was

tryin' ta find you a necklace, I thought I could sell the pretty rang for money to get y'all a house."

Silver internally whispered in a harsh tone, "Oh yeah, I'm not buying it." the father then snapped

at his son. "Now son, didn't I tell you we were not gonna do ANY… MORE… STEALIN'?!

We've been in enough trouble with the ZPD because of those antics and we can't afford any

more of them, you understand that?!" "Yes pa." the son stuttered in response. After that, the

other croc son went up to his mother. "My my son, this is a lovely rang. Where did you get this?"

asked the smooth calm Southern voice of the mother to her younger son. "I found it at the park."

the son, whose voice sounded like it was two years younger than his brother. "Found it?!" an

angry, dark voice shouted out to the startled croc family. "Or stole it?!" Silver shouted rather

darkly and fiercely for how he normally interacted with criminals.

With a firm resolve, anger in his eyes and telekinetic powers charged highly like never before.

His energy was so fueled with rage that lightning, pure thunderous power animated from him.

His normally pure white complexion was replaced with a very dark shade of blue as the rage

inside, empowered him and made him look, and be, more of a threat than he ever was or

intended to be. Towards anyone.

Yet he didn't care, for he was about to show these crooks that no one comes between Silver

and his desires for the one he loved.

Meanwhile… above ground… next to the statute…

It had been an hour since she had last seen her friend. (Well ok, it was really only 10 minutes,

but if you ever felt like your best friend lost themselves to their dark side, then it would definitely

feel longer than what it actually was.) After crying, reflecting, worrying, wondering and thinking

about what to do next for a while; she decided that if she ever wanted to know what happened

to her love, she would have to face the uncertainty and fear dwelling within her and go into the

sewers. With courage, she hopped into the sewer. Hoping for the best, but prepared for the

worst.

Back in the sewers…

The startled crocodile gang attempted to flee, but Silver caught them with his telekinesis and

smashed them back together. "I think you have something that belongs to me punks." the

furious Mobian lashed out. The father croc, who looked as scared as a cat when thrown in

water, did his best to defend his family. "Alright, we'll give you the ring, just please don't hurt us

anymore." he pleaded. "I hate to break it to you, but you stole more than just a ring!" Silver

shouted, still angry at how such crocs could stoop as low to literally live in the sewers. "Now, it's

time to end this!" He shouted with vengeance, as he was to send this family not just to the

prison, but to the grave. "Silver wait!" a female voice shouted from behind him. Francine

successfully got his attention and he stopped. "You've got them all wrong. They're not thieves,

they're heroes." Silver was confused, angered and shocked all at the same time. How could

those wretched fools be heroes? Especially after what they had done. Francine continued.

"When I was really young, my family abandoned me in the Rainforest District, because I was

diagnosed with a defect that made it difficult for me to learn. They thought that because of that

flaw, I was not worth keeping around. When I was 10, Ron and Joan Croc adopted me and

made me feel like part of their family. I don't know what would have persuaded them to do this."

the elephant finished. "We can take it from here." Ron spoke, clutching his wife's webbed hand.

"When the Night Howler case began, every business either started to demote or fire predators.

Including my wife and I. It was then we couldn't afford to pay our bills. So when we sold our

house, we were expecting to find some place where we could buy. But it was either because

place we found were too expensive or just because the sellers didn't want to do business with

predators. So we were forced to live here. I still wasn't able to find a job and our sons try to pick

up tidbits of information for us from when they go up. I know we're poor, but despite this, our

boys should never have stolen anything of yours." There was a brief moment of silence as croc

and cop waited to see who would make the next move. "Keep it." Silver finally said, as his

complexion slowly returned to its normal white as he calmed down after hearing Francine's

story.. "No no

honey, we don't want you to…" Joan was interrupted by Silver. "I was going to propose to the

love of my life with this ring, but, a ring's just a ring. A family like yours, especially after what

you've done for my friend Francine all these years, deserve a chance to prosper again." Silver

smiled at the crocodile, who fllashed him a teary-eyed smile back. "Call the commissioner, tell

him what happened. Also, call Gazelle and tell her to call me later. She should already have my

contact." Francine was startled and excited. "Wait a minute, the Gazelle? I mean, it's cool that

you guys are friends and all, but would she even want to help?" "She'd wanna help me if

anything." Silver ensured her. " And she would help me by helping my friends." the rest of the

cops slowly went back out the way they came to alert the other cops the mission was

accomplished and no arrests were needed to be made. "Silver" the white hedgehog turned

around to see one of Ron's sons face him. "I'm really sorry I stole your ring. I just wanted to help

my family." Silver smiled at him. "Of course. Your family needs it more than I do." the croc

grinned at him. "I really hope you still find a way to propose." the croc said sympathetically

before going on his way. "Yeah, I better." Silver thought internally in bitter internal

disappointment.

Just then, he seemed to hear

really loud female sobbing that reverberated throughout the sewer walls. Concerned that

someone else was in trouble, Silver flew as fast as he could possibly go in order to located the

source of the sound. As he came closer, he heard who it was, but because of the lack of light, it

was difficult for him to make out who it was. He grabbed the crying figure and flew her out of the

sewers. He was shocked to find that the figure was Judy, clutching hardly onto her friend's body

with a vice-like

grip, never wanting to let go. "Are you alright?" Silver asked. He knew he was gone for a while,

but he wasn't expecting her to cry that much about it. She stopped sobbing for a moment to

respond. "I was so worried about you. You were gone for a really long time. Why did you have to

chase that croc? Why did you have to try and get that box back? I didn't need it to make me

happy. I wanted you by my side all night tonight, and now… you've ruined everything for me by

leaving."

It was then Silver realized his mistake. She could have cared less about the ring. She wouldn't

have cared about the fact he would be on one knee. She rather cared, always cared, about him.

He now saw how letting his emotions get away from him upset and worried his best friend. "I

guess you'll never want to marry me now. Especially with how I acted by leaving you and just

getting angry that your ring was stolen." Judy turned to Silver, who slowly started to dejectedly

walk away. "Silver wait, what did you say?" Judy asked, hopping next to him as he walked along

the park. He knelt on both knees from sadness and exhaustion as he lowered his head towards

the ground with his eyes shut. "I said I wanted to marry you. I wanted to be your best friend

forever, to be committed to you forever. I was wanting to propose to you tonight, but with the ring

stolen and you getting upset at me, I just don't see how you would consider marrying me now."

Judy started crying again, but this time, not at what Silver did wrong, but the fact that she now

knew why he was so stressed and enraged when the croc stole her present. She was now

overjoyed, instead of over-worried. She placed a paw on his back, which made Silver turn to

look at her now smiling face. "Silver. You are my ring. You have been my greatest gift. The more

I've come to understand you, the more I love you and continue to love you and will continue to

love you. I don't need a ring or fancy ceremony or a wedding. All we need is our hearts to be

devoted to one another, because that's what love is. Always being committed, no matter what.

Silver smiled. The ways that this bunny continued to impress him had no bounds. How she

loved unconditionally, how she was content in the simple yet valuable things in life, how even

though he messed up she desired with all of her heart to help him get back on track… The list

was continuous and now, his best friend, the one he had come to love, was now about to be his.

Meanwhile… On Mobius…

A looming dark figure who was staring at Mobius while standing on top of a skyscraper, was

using a smartwatch to hone in on the events that had taken place between Silver and Judy. "So,

the white hedgehog and the grey bunny are about to tie the knot." Dark Foxen spoke in his

deep, dark and evil voice. "I've always loved weddings. I might even want to send them some

gifts." he spoke as he started to chuckle evilly and throw a pure, white evil smile.

Well guys, I hope you enjoyed the prologue. Special announcement, the first story, Love In The

Open blew its initial goal out of the water as it now has more than 8,900 views.

That is close to 9,000 views. Along with 18 Reviews, 17 Favorites and 14 Followers.

I am honored to have reached and surpassed this goal. So for those of you who are wondering,

"Wait, doesn't this chapter look familiar somewhat?" The answer to that one is that it looks

familiar because it is familiar. Before leaving for Texas for 7 months, I had the sequel to Love In

The Open written down entitled, "Rise of the Resistance." What's interesting about this game

was that it was inspired by the then previewed but unreleased game, Sonic Forces. However, as

I wrote down more and more of this story, I realize that things in plot extended for an

unnessecary length (although I had the story designed to be slightly longer than LITO), and not

much of everything was lining up as I thought it should be. So I deleted that story for a bit and

that's when I was on my trip. A lot of you noticed that the villain I made for the final chapters of

LITO looked a lot like and even had the same traits as the popular Sonic Forces villain, Infinite.

Before you guys freak out about this, remember that LITO came out before Sonic Forces was

announced as the main title of the game and before the Infinite trailer for the game was

Revealed. I was both impressed and shocked to have found out how similar the two villains

(Dark Foxen and Infinite) were in edge and in power. I'm honored that SEGA was inspired by

this idea and even if they weren't inspired by that particular idea, I was just as excited to see

how far Infinite would go, just like everyone else. Now, this chapter was an original chapter for

Rise of the Resistance but with a few modifications, as the first few chapters are going to be. To

avoid copyright issues; the villain's name in this story is still going to be named Dark Foxen, but

I will be adding altering of reality as one of his powers although there will not be any of the

"counterfeit copies" roaming around, but there will be an invasion of evil forces. That much I can

say without spoiling it. Also, Dark Foxen's origin and true identity are that different of Infinite's as

you will see later on, and it actually doesn't involve Shadow, but a different popular Sonic

character, as you'll also see.

Anyhow, updates for this story will vary with other projects and with life; but I hope to get the

next chapter up soon.

So then, Keep Loving, Keep Edifying, Keep LoveandEdifying. I'm back y'all. See ya! :-D :-D :-D
