On a sunny day, a tall girl got out of her limousine, looking at her phone. Her sisters got out after her, chatting happily. "When should I pick you girls up, Miss Cinder?" Her family servant asked her.
"4:50, Same as last year." The girl, Cinder, or known as Cinderpaw in school, responded curtly, flicking a strand of silver hair away from her bright blue eyes to send a text message.
"Cinderpaw!" Her friend Hollypaw called to her.
"Holly!" Cinderpaw called back, phone forgotten, as she rushed to hug her best friend.
"We get to be guides this year! Firestar just said so!" Hollypaw squealed.
"Really? Who am I going to get? Who will be guides with us?" Cinderpaw questioned, bouncing with excitement.
Hollypaw closed her eyes. "I am a guide, Lionpaw is a guide, you are one, Hazelpaw will be, Mousepaw also, and Berrypaw."
Cinderpaw wrinkled her nose. "Berrypaw? Why him? Who did you get? Who will I get?"
Hollypaw laughed. "I got Riverpaw, Lionpaw got Dovepaw, Hazelpaw got Blossompaw, Mousepaw got Bumblepaw, Berrypaw got Oceanpaw, and you got Ivypaw."
"So that means Briarpaw is going to be guided by a high schooler?" Cinderpaw asked.
"I guess so." Hollypaw shrugged. "Hey, Firestar's calling us in!"
The two girls walked together to the entrance when a short girl riding a skateboard jumped over them. "Move you two! You're walking too slow!"
"Who are you?!" Hollypaw asked, appalled by the girl's lack of manners.
"Why should I tell you, eighth gra-" The girl was cut off as another girl stormed up to her.
"Ivypaw!" The girl snapped. You can't just jump over people and be rude!"
"Who cares, Dovepaw? I don't want to be late!" Ivypaw snapped.
Cinderpaw exchanged a look with Hollypaw. "So that's Ivypaw." She muttered. Hollypaw looked at Cinderpaw sympathetically.
"Sorry about her." Dovepaw apologized. "She's a bit… Rebellious. Anyways, have you seen my guide? His name is Lionpaw! I don't want to wait until the ceremony to see him!"
Hollypaw laughed. "He's my brother, which would be over there." She pointed to a tall boy joking around with three others.
Dovepaw gulped nervously. "Um…"
Ivypaw rolled her eyes. "Don't be shy. Do it like this."
"YO! LIONPAW! GET YOUR ASS OVER HERE!" She screamed at the top of her lungs.
Hollypaw jumped. "What a strange girl. And only a sixth grader…"
Lionpaw looked over at us, a little bit spooked. Hollypaw pointed to Ivypaw who was sitting on her skateboard. He rolled his eyes, and went back to talking to his friends.
"I really don't like being ignored." Ivypaw muttered. "Looks like I'm going to have to go with style." She grabbed her skateboard. "You're welcome Dove."
Dovepaw looked really scared. "Ivy do-"
Ivypaw kicked off. She flipped over Lionpaw as her skateboard knocked Lionpaw's legs out from under him. "Yo dude did you not hear me call you?" She demanded.
Someone whistled. "Someone's a little fiesty today Lion. Just go with her."
Lion glared at the boy. "Shut it, Berrypaw."
He put a hand on Ivy's forehead, roughly pusing her back. "Who are you? You look like one of those sixth graders my sis was talking to."
"What does it matter to you? You talk big just because you're an eighth grader." Ivy took a step back, hands on her hips.
"Whatever. What do you want?" Lionpaw snarled.
"My sis needs her guide and you're her guide." Ivy said simply.
Lionpaw let out a groan of annoyance. "I was looking forward to being a guide. But if 6th graders are all this cocky… I swear to Starclan if Dovepaw is like you, I'm not doing this."
"Just come with me." Ivypaw jumped on her scooter leaving a confused Lionpaw behind.
