His hair danced ever so slightly in the summer breeze. His shadow draped over the edge of the Teen Titans tower and down it's side. Starfire could tell from the way Robin's shoulders were slouched that something was troubling him.

"Robin? Is everything alright?" Starfire questioned, trying to hide the concern in her voice - Robin hadn't been the same after the encounter with Slade. He was up on the Teen Titans roof for most of the day - thinking. Starfire wasn't sure exactly what he was thinking of but she knew it was troubling him a great deal.

Robin seemed to flicker back into life at the sound of her voice. He looked up past his shoulder so he was now looking directly at her.

"Star? Oh sorry I was deep in thought what did you say?" Robin asked.

"Is everything alright?" Starfire said as she lowered herself to sit down next to Robin, only inches away "Is this about Slade?".

Robin nodded before turning back to face the horizon.

"It's so frustrating," Robin exclaimed.

Starfire sighed "Robin wh-,"

"Slade just vanished for over four months and now he's back which means he has a plan to some how get me to be his apprentice. Starfire don't you see? He's planning something but I just can't figure out what it is!" Robin babbled in frustration.

"Robin," Starfire pleaded, her voice was soft as silk. Robin sighed and looked at her, Starfire placed her and on top of his gave it a small reassuring squeeze "My Konorfca once told me that you may ponder on what the future shall bring but it will do you naught. It means you can't predict the future Robin, I know it's your job as a super hero but you don't just have to b-,".

"A super hero? Look Star I am a hero and that's all I will ever be and if that's not good enough for you the I'm sorry!" Robin snapped.

"Robin tha-," Starfire pleaded.

"Don't Star," Robbin said, pushing away her hand, turned on his heels leaving Starfire chocking back on her tears until the sound of Robin's footsteps drowned into silence.

An endless chain of thoughts were zipping through Robin's head as he stared out the window. Maybe Star was right, he knew he couldn't predict the future but still it felt like his responsibility to at least try to figure out what Slade was planning.

~~~~~~Flashback~~~~~~
"And if that's not good enough then I'm sorry!" He snapped, but immediately felt a pang of guilt after seeing the way Star's beautiful emerald green eyes began to tear up.
"Robin tha-," Starfire pleaded her voice quivering ever so slightly as she held herself back from bursting into tears.
"Don't Star," He said as he pushed her hand away, feeling weight of guilt on his shoulders as he walked away leaving the sound of Starfire softly whimpering as she held back her tears.
~~~~~~End~of~Flashback~~~

Robin starred out the window his eyes set on the horizon. He watched as the sun dipped behind the horizon leaving a trail of orange and yellow. Millions of thoughts buzzed around Robin's brain, endless possibilities, each more unlikely than the next.

Suddenly a scream filled the air and the sky flashed green washing away all of his thought except one.

Starfire.

Robin reached the top of the Teen Titans Tower only moments after the sky had filled with the sound of Starfires scream. But only to see Starfire, her hair blowing softly in the breeze, her emerald eyes hiding behind her pale eyelids, lying limp in Slade's arms.
