Lost friend, new love
Calleigh is in the fire arms lab, comparing bullets from the crime scene that she and Delko are working on when tears start pouring down her cheeks. Calleigh is crying for her lost friend who should be celebrating his birthday today instead is buried in the ground with a bullet through his chest. She lets the tears flow freely until she hears the creek of the door, then she wipes them away with the back of her hand.
Eric had been worried about Calleigh all day; she has not been her usual cheery self. So he decided to go and see her. "Hey Cal, how is it going?" he asked her referring to the case, after she didn't answer him he walked over to her placed his hand on her shoulder and turned her around, that is when he noticed the tears in her eyes. "Hey what's the matter?" he asked her softly "nothing" she replied. "Com on Cal, I know you better than you think" he paused and then said "you have not been yourself all day and now you have been crying what is wrong"
"Do you even know what Day it is"
"No" Eric shrugged "It would have been speed's birthday" "I am sorry Cal, I totally forgot"
"It seems everybody has forgotten, it is like now he has gone nobody cares about him anymore" this shock Eric "How can you even say that Calleigh he was my best friend, just because I don't talk about him doesn't't mean I don't think about him, there has not been a day that has gone by when he is not on my mind" tears start to well up in Calleigh's eyes again " I'm sorry Eric it's just" but Eric stops her and pulls her into a hug and kisses the top of her head and whispers to her that he knows. They stay like this for a while then Eric pulls away and takes Calleigh by the hand, " come lets get out of here for a while, I'm sure H won't mind" and he lead her out to his car.
They drive to the beach and take a walk along the sea front; Calleigh links her arms through Eric's and they walk in silence for a while. Calleigh stops in front of him and asks him what he misses most about speed. Eric looks into her eyes and says " I miss not being able to talk to him, I could tell him anything and he wouldn't't laugh at me"
"You know Eric you could always talk to me"
"I know I can it's just that well I could talk to him about you know guy things"
"Well if you ever need anyone to talk to came to me and I promise I will not laugh"
"I know I can and thank you" Eric then kisses her on the cheek "Thank you for what you are the one that cheered me up"
"Thank you for being you, I know since speed died I have not been the easiest person to work with but you have stuck by me and never judged me and I just wanted to let you know that I love you, always have and always will no matter what" Eric cupped Calleigh's face with his right hand and tilted her head up and kissed her on the lips, he was expecting her to push him away but she leaned in closer and deepened the kiss. After a while they pulled away in the need of air, Calleigh took Eric by the hand and told him that she loved him to.
