I've lost you

A/N: Do I even need an explanation? Sigh, Huntbastian is giving me feels again. It's just another one-shot I felt like writing. So sorry for those who are still waiting for an update to my other fics but I have so much homework right now since I'm in the IB program. So I wouldn't be updating much or even at all until I get to finish my UN -Rach

"Sebastian! Se-Sebastian!" Hunter roughly grabs Sebastian arm, his eyes wild and panicked.

"What?" Sebastian snaps, ripping his arm from Hunter's tight grip.

"Please don't make a scene." Hunter looks around in panic to see if they were too loud.

Sebastian gaps for a moment in astonishment but he follows the action by gritting his teeth, "Then leave me the fuck alone."

"What do you want me to do?" Hunter croaks out, tears threatening to spill. His voice was set on steady waver and his lips part in desperation, "I can't just quit."

"Well, trying is an option." Sebastian shudders back, messy tears running down his cheeks, "You know I can't be with you if you don't."

"It's fucking hard okay!" Hunter cries out, swiping away his own tears which was drying from the cool breeze sweeping through the hallway from an open draft. Hunter pauses and lowers his voice, "It's hard, Sebastian."

"But you don't even try." Sebastian gasps back. He turns to look around the hallway, anywhere to avoid Hunter when he chokes out the hot words, "How do you think that makes me feel? Am I not worth it?"

Hunter remains quiet with only the sound of deep breathing coming from the two shadowed forms, "You don't know." Sebastian stutters.

"You don't know how it felt like, watching you lay there. And knowing I couldn't do shit to save you except call for help. You don't know how hard it was just thinking. This, this was it. I could've lost you Hunter. I could've lost you because you were stupid."

"I wouldn't overdose next time-"

"When are you going to stop leaving lies for me? Your stupid excuses, they hurt you idiot! Do you even care about how hard it is for me?" Sebastian says, bitter tears soaking his shirt.

"You know I-"

"Then change. Please Hunter. Not for me, but for yourself. For once, I'm begging you. Stop." A feeling of weakness drips into Sebastian and he really starts to wonder, how did his life become like this? When did Hunter become like this?

Hunter stops for a while as he slowly reaches out to take Sebastian's hand, "I-I can't"

Sebastian roughly pulls away as stares at him, dead in the eyes, "Fine." Sebastian walks away, hastily wiping on his tears.

"Wait! Where are you going?" Hunter cries out, panicking and grabbing Sebastian's hand again.

"You can't give up on drugs, fine. You can't care for yourself, fine. You can't try, fine. It's all fine, Hunter. But do it on your own." Sebastian hisses, yanking his arm away from Hunter, fresh tears brimming on his eyes.

"But you can't!" Hunter cried in desperation as he tried to take hold of Sebastian's hand again. Sebastian gives him a cold glare, "I-I need you, please don't leave."

"Unless you quit this habit, Hunter," Sebastian says. His hands are trembling, heck his whole body is shivering and there was nothing he could do to stop the words to tumble out of his mouth, "I can't be with you."

"What?" Hunter's eyes were wide with fear, "No! Please, I- I'll try! Just please stay!"

"No," Sebastian heaves out, his throat beginning to tighten up, "You're lying. And I can't do this anymore. We're done."

Hunter stares after him, like a lost and heartbroken boy. Sebastian tries to recognize Hunter in all the messed up shit that was reflecting on him, but it was hard to pull apart and see what he once could see in him. The old Sebastian would have shook his head and hugged Hunter, but there was a lot of things the old would do that the new wouldn't. And this was just one of them.

He's still in love with him and that's what hurts the most but watching Hunter grow pale and tired wasn't one of the reasons. Recovery would have to hurt the both of them.

Sebastian nods, more of reassuring himself that he was doing the right thing than saluting to Hunter, and begins to turn to walk away.

"Please." Sebastian heard Hunter choke out in the distance. "I love you, please."

Something in Sebastian pained and he was about to turn around but he stops himself. He shuts his eyes, shakes his head and leaves with his fists clenched with something destroyed between his fingertips.
