A/C: I don't own any of these characters. They belong to Richard O'Brien! Magenta's POV

I woke up this morning before the sun, as usual, and tried to make the least amount of noise possible, so as not to wake my brother. I yawned, wishing with all my heart I didn't have to do this load of useless crap Frank gives me to do every day. I've learned over the years that wishing doesn't change anything. I changed into my 'uniform' and headed quietly down the stairs to the kitchen. I was up before anyone else and I relished the silence of the early morning. It wouldn't be silent for too much longer, though, as the sun had started to come up. Soon Riff Raff would have to get to work. I started on cooking breakfast. Today I would make Earthling food for a change. It would be similar to our food but with a twist. Pancakes, eggs, bacon, and toast with jam. Riff and I would get the leftovers while Columbia ate with the 'Master' so I always try to make something we all like. I never knew what Frank wanted so I took a gamble, hoping he would like it. If he didn't, I would be punished. Regardless, I do get punished often. If Frank can't find a reason to hurt me, he makes one. He does the same for Riff. I've seen the scars across his back from the many whippings he has unjustly received. I sometimes wish we could switch places so I could take some of his pain.

The sound of footsteps brought me back from my thoughts. My beloved brother came striding smoothly into the kitchen. He smiled softly and hugged me, kissing the top of my head. I handed him a tray of food, smiling back, and started to set the table. Just as we had finished, Columbia came skipping into the room, and soon after her came Frank. Columbia was talking a mile a minute, as always. I had learned pretty quickly to ignore it but it still gave me and Riff headaches. We looked at each other, laughing on the inside, both of us thinking the same thing. We have this sort of 'connection'. We often know how the other is thinking or feeling and what they want. It can be annoying at times but it, too, can be ignored.

Frank and Columbia had sat down by now. Columbia smiled at the sight of Earth food but the master simply sat there, staring at it, with a slightly disgusted look on his face. This was not new to me, but it was not good, either. Still, he took some of the food and began to eat. Columbia did the same, still talking, even with her mouth full. I looked down at my feet, waiting nervously for them to finish eating. I knew I would get punished somehow for this but right now I was just hungry. Riff Raff moved to me and held my hand, squeezing it in a comforting way. I knew he was worried for me but we both put on brave faces and then cleared the table.

Back in the kitchen, I set to cleaning the dishes while my brother put the food we had left over onto two plates for us. I finished quickly and walked briskly over to him. We sat with our backs against the wall, letting the sunlight from the window opposite us warm our faces. The sun was one thing I would miss when we went home. We had only the moons of our planet, and even thought they were beautiful and one-of-a-kind, there was nothing like the ever-bright sun of Earth. So, we sat close together and ate in silence. I set our plates with the rest of the dirty dishes to clean later and watched my brother walk out one door as I walked out the other. The early morning was now over but the day had just begun.
