An interesting few months?

Arthur's uncle is just about to arrive which causes the usual banter between Arthur and Merlin. Just a short one shot because of how excited I am for next week :

'Merlin!' Arthur yelled from behind his screen. 'Merlin you useless oaf, I have to get dressed sometime before my uncle arrives.' Merlin rolled his eyes as he passed the clothes over the screen.

'Well you could go naked, however it may cause a bit of a stir' Merlin smirked

'Don't be such a moron.' His voice was muffled as he put on his crisp red shirt 'I haven't seen him since I was a child I have to make a good impression.'

'Maybe you shouldn't go then.' Merlin suggested, but before he could laugh a dressed Arthur stepped out from behind the screen and cuffed him round the back of his head.

'What was that supposed to mean?' Arthur demanded.

'Nothing sire nothing at all.' Merlin grinned as Arthur scowled at him before Arthur swirled round and excited the room leaving Merlin to scurry along behind him.

'If the Lords are to be happy, my uncle will have to be here to supervise with my father like he is.'

'I know Arthur, but that's because the Lords are old fools. You'll be fine. You always are.'

'No thanks to you.'

'A little bit thanks to me!' Merlin said indignantly.

'Hardly' Arthur scoffed as the headed down the staircase.

'I always save you!'

'Name one.' Arthur smiled as Merlin opened and closed his mouth like a goldfish. 'See, I have to save you.'

'No. Not once.'

'Merlin'

'No.' Merlin argued as they reached the main doors.

'Well here I go.' Arthur muttered as he headed outside to meet the twelve knights are his uncle who were heading into the courtyard. A proud black haired man was leading the knights, holding his head high and looking at the peasants in the courtyard with disdain.

'Let's just hope no one tries to kill you.' Merlin quipped as they walked the final few yards to meet the group.

'Like they could' said Arthur waving his hand dismissively. Merlin dropped back as Arthur shook hands with his uncle shaking his head in disbelief. How could Arthur have not realised that anyone who comes to Camelot tries to kill him? Well it would defiantly be an interesting few months.
