A Date at the Casino
"Hey I took my bucket of change to the bank and there was over one hundred dollars in there." Nick told Jackie one Friday afternoon.
"Oh, hon, I wish you hadn't done that, it's popcorn day again next Friday so I'm going to need change." Jackie told him.
"No, not my quarter bucket, the non quarter bucket." He told her.
Nick and Jackie kept two change jars, one with strictly quarters in it and the other had all other coins in it.
"Oh ok, well that's good."
"Yeah and I was thinking that we could take half of the money and go to the casino for a date night this weekend. That is if your parents would take the kids for a couple hours, what do you say?"
"That sounds fun, it's been a long week at work, I could use a date night. I'll call my mom and see if she'd take the kids for a bit tomorrow night." Jackie responded with a smile.
Her mom happily agreed to watch the kids so the next night Nick and Jackie headed down to Fremont Street.
"Hey look the light show is just starting, let's go watch." Jackie suggested.
The light show was Christmas themed and really pretty.
After it was over the couple headed back to the casino. They played their fifty dollars.
"Well I don't know about you but it was more fun last time we were here." Nick said jokingly.
"I agree but we still are ten bucks ahead. That's better than nothing."
"True." Nick conceded.
On their way out the door Jackie spotted a coffee shop.
"Can we?" She asked with a grin.
"Sure." He said as he playfully shook his head at her.
They each got a drink and a muffin, the total was near fifteen dollars.
"Well so much for our ten dollar winnings, now we are in the red." He quipped jokingly.
"Maybe so but you have to admit that a five dollar date isn't bad."
"Actually it was a ten dollar date, we had to pay five bucks to park." He told her with a smile.
"Oh yeah, I forgot about that, but still a ten dollar date is pretty good."
Nick shook his head in agreement.
"How's your chocolate muffin?" He asked her.
"It's chocolate so of course it's delicious." He laughed.
"How's your blueberry muffin?" She asked him.
"Good." He answered her.
On the way home the couple was happy, they had had a wonderful time, even if the date did cost them 10 bucks!
The End!
