Prologue

Writer's words: I do sincerely apologise to those that wish for me to update my stories, but you must be patient. I am working on numerous stories and it may take me a while to finish them all but I hope you enjoy the beginning of this one for the time being.

I THANK YOU

Holly was crossing the ocean flying without a care in the world. She enjoyed the warm sun and the cool breeze. This was the life, flying over the Irish ocean and enjoying the view of the dolphins as they jumped in and out of the water as she passed them by.

Holly had been bored since the day Artemis had been mindwiped ten years ago. She had also missed him considerably but she did not know why. He had been a cold hearted monster when she first met him. But slowly he began to change he was on his way to becoming a better person and they nearly had become friends she had even cried for him for god sake. He was not dead and yet she missed him. After the mindwipe Holly had decided that she would keep an eye for the first few days to make sure he was doing alright and he was. Artemis was doing very well, he was doing fewer crimes which his mother had wanted and he had also improved emotionally and physically. Foaly had told Holly a couple of days ago that Commander Root and the Council wanted her to go and check on Artemis just to make sure that he had not remembered the people or was starting to have a relapse. Holly had agreed and tried not to look too excited, she really wanted to see him just to make sure that he was ok like she had before. Holly knew she had seemed quite odd after the first couple of months after Artemis's mindwipe and most of her colleagues had noticed. She had been unsure if her feelings and didn't really no how to react to them. But everyone else believed that she had developed feelings for enemy number one, which she thought was ridiculous and had denied those feelings when asked but she could not convince herself especially when she continued to wake up from unusual dreams about him and argue with herself when she awoke from either a dreaded nightmare or a pleasant dream. Holly could not decide which one it was yet and she did not want to. It was far better to remain a livid and vivid dream than to become reality.

Foaly had given Holly Artemis's location and hoped his friend would be alright (if he had known what would happen then he would have got down on his hairy front and hind legs to pray for her to be ok. But luckily for him he was a cynical centaur who panicked once and while and made jokes that irritated everyone else) and told her to keep a close eye on him to make sure he had not remembered as he told her this, she kind of wished that he would remember the people and her because if she had to continue doing paperwork and being Foaly's guinea pig for new experiments she would strangle them both. Artemis made things more dangerous and exciting, you never really got bored when your mission was to either catch him or bring him to Lep so that he could help them find out who was trying to take over the world. Holly quickly snapped back into reality and wondered why Artemis would be in the woods she had figured out that he really wasn't the out door type and she could not imagine him setting up a tent and sleeping in it. She quickly pinpointed his location and flew around the trees avoiding low hanging branches while looking at the birds as they sang and noticing the other animals in the forest.
