It was the end of the day and all the animals were very tired. They had worked hard, were hungry and quite frankly, cranky. Mollie was prancing around as usual. She was happy as Mr. Jones had just gotten her a new ribbon. It was pink, her favourite colour. She showed it off to every animal she saw. She was out on the field were she saw Squealer. She ran up to him.
"How do you like my ribbon?"
"There isn't any ribbon." replied Squealer.
" Of course there is! Are you blind?"
"No I'm not there just isn't any ribbon." He pointed it out.
"Oh my goodness! Someone must have stolen it!"
She ran off to the barn and asked every animal if they had seen any one take it. She had asked everyone but no one had seen it. She went to her stall to get some sugar. She had hidden it under the hay. Sugar all ways picked her up when she was down. It was gone too! She walked out extremely upset. She watched as Benjamin walked past. He was chewing on some sort of pink stuff. He also had some sort of white dust all around his face. Naturally Mollie assumed that he was eating her sugar and ribbons.
"YOU FOOL!" screamed Mollie
Benjamin stopped in his tracks
"YOU'VE EATEN MY RIBBONS AND SUGAR, YOU MONSTER!"
"No, I haven't." replied Benjamin in a calm manner.
Just when she was about to trample him, he ran off near the pond. Mollie came and talked to her friend Boxer.
"What are you riled up over? You look so angry!" asked Boxer
" I'll tell you why I'm angry! Benjamin ate my ribbons and sugar that's why I'm angry!"
"...Oh. Ok then. Ummm... Why do you think he ate it for?"
"Because he's jealous that Mr. Jones likes me better."
"OK..."
Mollie left realizing that Boxer wasn't going to be much help.
"Hello comrade, I heard you yelling. What's wrong?" asked Old Major.
" Benjamin ate my stuff!" she said in a whiney voice.
"Is that so? Are you sure?"
"Yes. I saw him eating it ."
"Go fetch Benjamin, we need to settle this argument."
Mollie ran as fast as she could into the field to get Benjamin.
"Old Major wants to talk to you." she told him
He said nothing but walked into the barn in front of Old Major.
"Benjamin, I understand that Mollie seems to think that you have eaten her things. Is this true?" questioned Old Major.
"No, I haven't." said Benjamin in a creepily eerie voice.
"YES YOU DID. I SAW YOU !" blurted out Mollie
"No I didn't." said Benjamin still showing no emotion.
"If that is true how come I saw you eating it and you had dust all over your face from the sugar."
"What you saw wasn't me eating your ribbon, it was me eating newspaper clippings. The dust wasn't from the sugar it was from Mrs. Jones. She was baking a pie and some of the flour got on my face while I was walking past the window. Ok." He sounded slightly annoyed now.
"Fine, then where is my ribbon and sugar."
"I suppose we will have to look for it. Where did you last see it?" said Old Major.
Well I was on the field to show-" Old Major cut her off.
"Let's look on the field then." They trotted off onto the field.
"Here it is." He scooped up the ribbon with his nose
At this time Mollie was embarrassed.
"That's done. Okay, where did you last remember seeing your sugar."
"Oh. I'm sorry I forgot that I had the last of it last night." She was about to run off.
"One more thing dear comrade, you had better go apologize to Benjamin. I hope you have learned your lesson not to jump to conclusions."
Mollie ran off to apologize. She, had definitely learned her lesson.
