Zetta Better at Maths

'Hey Neku?'

'What Josh?'

'You're pretty good at maths aren't you?' Neku Sakuraba stopped walking at stared at his silver-haired partner, Yoshiya Kiryu, or better known as Joshua.

'What makes you say that?'

'You solved the square root of 3 just by using mental math.' Joshua replied, snickering. 'I have to say, that's pretty impressive.' Neku couldn't help but flush under Joshua's praise.

'I…guess…' Joshua laughed.

'Maybe you're even better then our maths-loving gamemaster.'

'Are you zetta kidding me?!' The pair turned around to find that they had absent-mindedly walked past one of Sho Minamimoto's junk heaps, with said person sitting on top, glaring in an offended way. 'There is no way that microscopic son-of-a-digit can match my beauty.'

'I don't know about that.' Joshua chirped in a sing-song voice. 'He did solve the square root of 3 in 2 seconds. Maybe he can match you beauty.'

'Josh, please don't bring me into this.'

'I say we have a competition.' Joshua continued, clearly ignoring Neku, much to Neku's irritation. 'To see who is better at maths.'

'You are on!' Sho yelled, jumping down from the junk heap. He pointed at Neku. 'You are gonna x2 die!' All Neku did was groan. Joshua merely smiled serenely and cleared his throat, suddenly having the air of a gameshow host.

'Now then, 'he said, 'the one who answers the question last loses. Ready?'

'I'm so zetta ready!'

'Geez…'

'Ok.' He took a deep breath. 'What is the degree of a right angle?' There was a small pause as Sho and Neku stared at the silver-haired boy with a 'WTH' look.

'90 degrees.' The both said. 'It's pretty obvious.' Joshua grinned.

'Very good. Now, a traingle has a base of 20cm and a height of 10 cm. What is the area?'

'100cm squared.' The pair answered again. Joshua clapped his hands.

'Very good you two.' The pair didn't answer him.

Time went by and the pair thought the questions Joshua was giving them were pretty stupid and easy. But slowly, but surely, the questions were getting harder and harder. By now, Sho was sweating a little and Neku was now taking the competition seriously, glaring at Joshua with a determined look. Joshua giggled as he stared at the pair.

'My my, so serious?' The pair didn't answer and Joshua giggled again. 'Ok, one last question.' The two prepared themselves for what they expected was going to be a complicated maths problem that only a master mathematician could solve.

'There are are three monkeys, two elephants and six mice. The monkeys have five bananas each, the elephants have a hundred peanuts each and the mice have three wedges of cheese each. How much food is it all together?'

'233 altogether.' Neku said after a one second pause. Sho was staring at the silver-haired boy with a blank expression on his face. Joshua smirked.

'Well then,' Joshua said, 'while you may be good at maths Sho Minamimoto, when it comes to worded prolems, your English fails you.' Joshua went over to Neku and raised his arm. 'Neku is the winner.' Sho stared at the pair for a split second. Then his face contorted into one of fury.

'NO ONE CAN EVER EXCEL MY BEAUTY!' He roared, calling upon an army of Noise. 'NOBODY!' Joshua patted Neku on the shoulder.

'I say we run.' The pair turned around and ran as fast as their legs would let them.

'In the end, we still get stuck with an army of Noise.' Neku said between breaths as the two sprinted down the street. Joshua merely snickered at the expression on Neku's face
