A/N: If I get enough reviews on this, I'll turn it into a series of funny one-shots called "Office Party". So please review. Btw, it's not KensiXCallen fluff. Just a random moment. It's what I do.

Disclaimer: do not own NCIS: LA.

Kensi's eyes were stuck on Callen. He was sketching out the lines of his report on the latest case. He kept slamming his pen down on the desk when it didn't want to work. She smiled to herself and tried to focus on her own report.

The work took forever. She was bored; Kensi kept stealing glances at Callen, still watching his piercing blue eyes as they flitted across the paper.

There was always something about him that she had admired. He had always stood up stronger than almost anyone on the team; he had the willpower to do just about anything. He could stand up against Hetty whenever he felt like it. Callen had that darkened aura about him, haunted but fresh and ready for anything. It was like he could change personalities on a dime. That was what scared people to no end when he was around.

Kensi looked back down to her papers again, trying to regain some shred of focus. It was hard. Yet her gaze found Callen once again.

He could become anyone. Was not knowing his true identity an advantage to that? How did lying come so natural to him? Did he feel no guilt? Did he feel no pain on the constantly flying lies? Was he just the man of everything and nothing at the exact same time?

Once again, G slammed his pen down on the desk as the ink died out for the third time in twenty minutes. He had gotten Sam to lick it the first time and tricked Deeks into giving him another pen, but that one had quickly died. He wasn't sure why. Since when had Deeks ever used a pen?

Kensi smiled to herself, flipping the page in a pitiful attempt to seem hard at work.

G got more ink out and presented himself with the next page of the massive case report.

"Callen?" said Kensi. She didn't know what she was saying before it happened: it had just come.

He looked up for a second, his piercing gaze looking over her features. He studied her dark hair and her soft smile for another long moment before saying, "Yeah?"

"Has anyone ever told you that you have really pretty eyes?"

He smiled, a short breathy chuckle escaping him. Callen looked at the papers on his desk before his gaze returned to Kensi who remained sitting beside him at their shared desk space. "I've heard that about fifty billion times. But thanks." And he returned to his paperwork.

Kensi looked back down to her own, finally able to focus.

Then Callen tapped her shoulder; she looked up at him. "Can you lick my pen? It's not working."

"Uh, no," she said, giving him her quirky grin. "Get Sam to do it."

A pout touched his lips. "SAM!"

A/N: I love their office. Please review!
