It had been one year since Yugi Motou defeated the pharaoh and became the rightful King of Games.

It had been one year since Ryou split from Bakura the Theif King and became free from the curse of the millennium ring.
Four Years
It had been four years since Marik had separated from his darker side who was sealed away after the Battle City finals.
It had been one year since he had last seen the pharaoh leave this world to return to his own home and watched with pride as his job as the king's tombkeeper was finally completed.
One Year
I had been one yuear since Joey, Tea, Tristan and the rest of the gang had watched as their friend the pharaoh walked through the gateway and out of their lives forever.
No matter how long it had been though, they all still remembered that day. They would always remember their adventures with the Egyptian King. All of the duels, the trips and even the time travels they had done with someone they had come to know as a good friend. They say that time heals all wounds, but it doesn't make them forget the loss of that person, their pharaoh, their family, their friend.
As Yugi looked out the window of his house he knew deep down, that no matter where the road took him in life, eventually he would be once again by the pharaoh's side. But for now he would wait and remember what he lost.
