Lily: Wooo... Another old oneshot from a long, long ago.

Hannah: About six months ago? We both collaborated on this, and on the last week, we finally came up with a pairing.

Lily: Even though 'Nello and Lal are so CANON.

Hannah: ...Oh, darn.

Lily: YOU WANT THEM ALL, BUT YOU CAN'T HAVE THEM ALL! AHAHAHA!

Hannah: D:

Lily: I don't own Colonello, or his awesome bandanna although I wish I did! :3 May LalxColonello stay as canon as MukuroxChrome! :D

You walked on the side of the beach, breathing in the warm salty smell of ocean water as it lapped at the edges of the sand, soaking bare feet. You stopped, turning as you looked into the distance, looking for the ship that would bring him back to you.

It wouldn't come.

The gentle breeze rustled and you shivered, remembering the times he would've brought you closer and warmer with an arm and an adorable sweet smile that lit his face to a thousand watts.

He was brighter than the sun...

You missed his loud voice and the rough but pleasing nights that always ended with smiles and gentle kisses and the 'I love you's. You missed his protective hugs that always made you feel so loved and so warm and so beautiful and so safe. You missed his bright smile that could light the entire sky and its population of a million and more stars. You missed laying down with him and staring peacefully at the sky, where both of you would fall asleep, wrapped in each others' arms.

The night sky winked at you with thousands of stars that would never be as bright as him. He was always the center of your own universe and would never change, no matter how many guys you met in your tiny life. Softly, you bent down to pick up the shard of dark green glass, frowning at the number one on it.

It reminded you of him.

When you looked up again, into the midnight blue, fireworks shot up and showers of yellow, the color of his hair, rained down on surprised eyes. You watched as fireworks burst into the dark night sky with illuminating bursts of rainbows. A small smile brushed your lips. He watched fireworks with you before. It was a lot better with him around.

He was so warm.

And when the fireworks ended, the wind picked up again, faster and faster, blowing fiercely, harshly, until your hat was swept up and blown far away, hanging in the sky like someone wanted you to forget about him.

"Colonello..."

And he was so cold now.
