I just had to write this!

Disclaimer: I don't own anything from Merlin.

"Sorry, but just what exactly happened?"

Sir Leon sighed. "For the tenth time sire, we were riding back to Camelot when some bandits attacked us in the forest. We managed to fight them off, but as they ran off into the trees we found that Sir Gwaine had been killed." He explained.

Arthur shook his head. This couldn't be true. How could it be? "You're wrong! You must be!"

Elyan cast his eyes to the floor, not wanting to look Arthur in the eye. "I'm sorry sire," he said "but it's true. I'm afraid you've lost another knight."

Arthur couldn't believe it. First Lancelot, now this. "But- this is Gwaine we're talking about! The man who can fight an entire tavern of angry drunks single-handedly, and that's when he's full of ale! What could have possibly killed him? There is no way he could have died fighting mere bandits!"

"Gaius is looking into this as we speak. We were quite puzzled as to what did it. There was no blood to be seen on the body."

Merlin suddenly burst in, carrying something. He strode across the room and handed it to Arthur. "Gaius said that this is what killed Gwaine."

Arthur stared at the object in his hands disbelievingly for a few seconds. He slowly lifted his head to look at his manservant.

"Merlin..."

"Yes, Arthur?"

"This is a fishing rod!"
