A long, long time ago...
I can still remember
how that superman used to make me smile.
And I knew he would never would die
He would always fly so high.
And, he'd still be kicking ass for a while.

But the cover made me shiver
with every issue I'd deliver.
It was so hard to look at;
The way that they beat him flat,

I can't remember if I cried
when I read about how hard he tried
but something touched me deep inside
the day a superman died.

So bye-bye, Mr. Superman guy.
got punched to death by doomsday,
And made Lois Lane cry
And all them fans who were hung out to dry
Singing, I can't believe superman died

Did see they way he got hit
And they way doomsday bought it
Why was there no kryptonite?
The whole issue was one huge fight,
The justice league got their asses kicked,
So superman just got real ticked

Well, when all the other heroes couldn't stop him
Good old superman decided to step in.
So he called this guy doomsday lame.
And gave a last kiss to Lois Lane

Doomsday made everyone there live in fear
But superman said your rampage stops here
But I knew I would shed a tear
The day that superman died.

Superman came up behind Doomsday..
He was ready to make him pay;
they started beating on each other super fast.
Superman landed on the grass.
Now he was ready to kick doomsday's ass,
With Antman on the sidelines in a cast.

Now Superman started throwing his fists
and that made Doomsday really pissed
Superman was about to prance,
Oh, but he never got the chance!
..Cause Super girl entered the field;
but the two fighters refused to yield.
Do you recall what was revealed?

They was nothing but dust so thick
they both kept fighting their best.

Oh, and as I briskly turned the page
My hands were clenched in fists of rage.
It was total war between the two;
Ohhhh, all the action grew
the battle went on into the night,
To signify the long and weary fight,
I saw Lex Luther laughing with delight

And in the streets: the collectors screamed,

Doomsday's bones were broken.
And the one man I admire most:
Fought with doomsday, now he's a ghost,
And I heard all the batman fans boast
