Author's Note: I don't own Soul Eater. I wrote this story/outlined in YEARS ago (it's only been like, 1 year), but I've gotten better at writing, found the file and fell in love with the plot again, so I'm giving it a new go. The tense has changed, other things have changed, but the basics are all the same. So uh, hope you like it? Also, yay for less stupid titles!

when boy meets girl

They say women fall in love with their ears and men fall in love with their eyes. Well, he plays like shit and she's flat as a board but somehow they're still screwed.

Prologue
Of Guesswork, Assumptions & Destiny (?)

Ask around as much as you want, but no one can give you a straight answer.

Wes would say it was around the time his little brother started showing her his sheet music.

Black*Star said it was when he caught him in the library with her and he wasn't sleeping.

Tsubaki would claim it was when her best friend started looking for him during lunch and he started waiting at her locker.

Kid would tell you it was because of the dress.

Liz declared it was definitely before the dress, but after the drug search.

Patty is sure it was during the school field trip.

Crona's pretty certain it was around the time she started to write poetry about him.

Hiro knows it was the moment she stopped hanging out with him.

Stein is 98% certain it was when he saw them at the movies.

Marie thinks it was right after the crash.

Blair is almost certain it was when she started wearing the Jacket.

No one knows for certain.

They just woke up one day and Soul "Eater" Evans and Maka Albarn were a thing.

Though many things are unclear, some are certain.

He didn't fall in love, he fell into a ditch with the word love written at the bottom of it.

She didn't swoon and faint over him, she tripped and cracked her head over his bike.

He didn't whisper sweet nothings to her, he shouted curses.

She didn't call him by any terms of endearment, she called him names.

He didn't buy her a drink, he spilt it on her.

She didn't go outside to cry, she just needed air.

He wasn't hoping for anything, he just wanted out of the party.

She wasn't going to avoid men, she was going to annoy her father.

Regardless of their reasons for being there, the fact of the matter was that they were there at the party and that's when everything started.
