Harry didn't want to let Ginny forget about him while he was with Ron and Hermione hunting for horcruxes, but he knew that Ron would throw a fit if he gave anything to Ginny. Hermione was all in favour of leaving the Weasleys with something to remember them by but wasn't sure what to do either so had spoken to Ron and Harry until they agreed to write a letter with her, explaining that they were truely acting on Dumbledore's orders and would try their best to return soon ready to defeat Voldemort.

It was the letter which gave Harry inspiration on how to let Ginny remember him. He decided to write 10 letters, or stories, or poems, or whatever was in his mind as he wrote them. Nothing sad, nothing upsetting or defeatist was allowed in the letters and he couldn't give them straight to her, which was what troubled him.

Ginny herself showed him the answer to his problem. When Harry was in her room, in the awkward moment after Ron had burst in on Harry's birthday, he noticed her school trunk, left open through the holidays. If he could manage to get the letters into there at somepoint during the next day it would be fine, and Ginny would smile because of him when she reached Hogwarts or headed back there.

It took some waiting, but sneaking away between the wedding and the reception Harry found a perfect moment to put the letters into Ginny's trunk, making sure they were in a pocket she would check once she was at Hogwarts but not before. "I love you Ginny, don't forget me." He muttered as he put them in, before leaving with a sad smile on his face, taking a moment to get the happiness the reception would require.

The first day of September, and everyone was on the Hogwarts Express that could still attend Hogwarts. There had been no sightings or news of Hogwarts for the last month and for that Ginny was thankful as she opened her trunk to change into her robes, reaching into a side pocket to get the hand mirror she kept only for school out and check her appearance. But her hand brushed paper first, ten envelopes to be precise. Looking around to check it was only Neville and Luna who would see she took the envelope nearest her hand out with her hand mirror, to see the letter and have a cover story if someone dangerous decided to check on them. Tears formed in her eyes as she read:

Dear Ginny,

I didn't want you to think I'd forgotten you or would forget about you at all, so these letters contain stories, dreams, and even the odd poem all written by me especially for you. I have to go away now, probably with Ron and Hermione since they've been so insistant about it, and might not be back for a while, so I want you to keep yourself safe while I can't. I know you can do that much now, especially after fifth year. I'll keep myself safe too, as far as I can. Being the one labled as the one to kill Voldemort does hold some life threats so I can't happily guarentee I will be, but I'll try my best. Hopefully you won't hear much about me while I'm on the run, so accept no news is good news.

Goodbye for now Ginny, but remember I love you, and will think of you every night, and probably every time Ron and Hermione decide to argue over something meaningless.

Always Yours

Harry x
