Chapter 1
Caught!
Mulch Diggums, robber. In the Louvre. Things are going to happen. Good things. For Mulch, that is. Not for the Louvre.
Mulch dug his way up from underneath. He grinned, proud of himself. He had to use a cyclone to get in here, a feat which a Mud Man, even one who had eaten tons of beans, would find impossible. The cyclone. Not the Louvre.
He spied the item of artwork he came for: a famous Mud Man painting by Leonardo Da Vinci called the Mona Lisa. He spotted motion sensors. Alarms. Cameras. Everything but the kitchen sink.
He eyed the first task. The motion sensors. He would have to time this just right. He jumped. He then released a burst of gas that sent him flying over the motion sensors. He grinned. Not a very pleasant thing to see. But then a gas attack would have been worse.
The second task. Alarms. Now this was going to be tricky. There were seven doors he had to get through, and they all had at least two alarm boxes on them. He went to the first one. He had no way of disarming that one. He sighed. There was one way he was going to get through this, and if he used that, the LEP would see that it was a dwarf who did it. He opened up a bottle of dwarf rock polish. He melted through each of the seven doors.
Now for the cameras. He would have to do this quick. He pointed his backside at each of the cameras in turn and fired. It knocked the cameras off the wall. He quickly grabbed the Mona Lisa and ran for it.
Past the cameras.
Through the doors.
Over the motion sensors.
He was through. Allowing himself a sigh of relief, he turned to go outside the Louvre, when he had a particularly bad gas attack.
Unfortunately, it set of the motion sensors. He was still lying there moments later when the LEP arrived.
