Prologue/Chapter One~

The figure of a once forgotten girl sat in front of her mirror, her eyes making contact with the delicate glass upon the noticeable moment that pointless tears stung from her clouded eyes.

Her silky auburn hair fell over her dark misty eyes which were currently filled with much sorrow and confusion. She was ashamed of how she had let herself become pushed into the depths below so easily, not knowing whether she could ever resurface to the times of happiness.

Sun light filled the darkest points of this room, and depressed thoughts lingered soundlessly from within these walls. The girl shook with pure disgust upon staring at her reflection in the mirror with a solemn expression covering her face.

Arguing could be heard from the room across the hall; she stared at the door leading to the world beyond, hoping that someone would soon slam it open before rushing to her side to say that they had come to help her, to save her from her from this life of a broken family. But alas no one came, no one ever came; she was alone, always to be that way. She had not heard from her friends all summer, even though only two weeks had gone by. Though usually she would have heard from at least one of them by now, but not a single attempt of contacting her had been made.

She jumped as a lightning bolt struck across the now darkened sky; she had always feared thunder and lightning, usually always having someone there to comfort her for her childish fears, though this time no one showed up to help calm her down.

Staring at her bedside table; she shifted across her bed to pick up a small sharp instrument from the delicate wooden surface. Slowly tracing it along the top of her skin which was located just above her wrists, not even wincing as she did so; instead she smiled as droplets of blood started to form quickly.

How many times she had done this was not to be known, scars were already formed around many different spots of her arm. She knew that this was wrong, that it was not a responsible way to get rid of her pain; though the voice in the back of her head had always told her that it was the only way, that she was worthless and needed it.

This broken girl whose life had made a tremendous downfall into a self-pitied world was to always sit alone within this room, unknown to the changing world around her due to the concealment she had taken within herself. Sora Takenouchi, this was her newest turn in life, this was her story.
