With the sounds of rapid fire in the distance, Caboose was inside the Zanzibar base, lying on the floor motionless in a pool of blood. Following Delta's suggestions, he mistakenly turned left instead of right and lost himself in the facility. While fruitlessly searching for the way out, Caboose unfortunately had run into the Meta and had asked for directions. Realizing Caboose has possession of Delta, the Freelancer viciously and mercilessly attacked the poor, dim-witted soldier repeatedly, leaving him severely wounded.

Ignoring the fighting and gunfire from the Reds outside, Agent Maine turned his attention to the unconscious Blue Soldier and slowly walked up to him. He let out a low hiss as he took out and pointed his handgun down at Caboose's visor, intent on killing him. The voices of the AIs whispered in the Meta's head.

"He's no threat. Just leave him."

"…just a simulation soldier…"

"…an idiot…"

"He'll die soon, anyway."

Then, Delta emerged on the floor beside Caboose and looked up at the former Agent Maine, who had turned his attention to the small image of the green AI.

As if responding to his appearance, one by one, six small glowing figures materialized around Delta, each with a different form and color. Delta remained silent as the AIs greeted and beckoned him with whispers to come with them, to become the Alpha AI. With the Meta looking down at him with an excited hiss, it was not as if he had a choice.

As the AI fragments continued to speak, The Meta knelt down beside Caboose and took off the blue soldier's helmet. Unable to do anything, Delta watched helplessly as the former Freelancer hissed and violently yanked out the AI Unit from Caboose's helmet. He stared at the unit for a moment and growled excitedly as if it found a priceless artifact.

The Meta dropped the Blue Soldier's helmet and kicked it across the room, deeming it useless now that he obtained Delta. Walking away, he placed the AI Unit at the back of his EVA helmet and continued his search for the power generator, leaving Caboose to lie in his own blood.
