Eternity
Hidan was beginning to wish he hadn't mentioned the art show going on in the neighboring village for the week.
Sasori had been moderately interested, while Deidara had a more enthusiastic response. At least until he had realized most of the pieces would likely be sculptures or paintings. It was very unlikely that they would have anything approaching Deidara's explosive art style. That had sparked the old argument between the artists, and Hidan wasn't sure how much more he could take.
"I think I have to side with Dei on this one, Sasori," Hidan said.
Sasori scoffed. "Shows how much you know. True art is eternal." This was said with a finality that expected no argument from the immortal priest.
"But who gives a shit about true art?" Deidara looked like he was planning the violent dismemberment of Hidan for speaking such blasphemy, but Hidan kept talking. "Being a walking piece of art is just great, but why eternal? Eternity is extremely over rated. It's really shitty. I mean, what exactly is the damn point in being an eternal piece of art when he," Hidan jabbed a finger at the blonde bomber. "Is just going to blow himself sky high as soon as he gets the fucking chance?"
Hidan whirled on Deidara, and Sasori repressed a sigh of relief now that Hidan's near murderous violet gaze was no longer directed at him. Sasori normally wouldn't tolerate being yelled at, but Hidan seemed more crazy than usual. He was always teetering on the edge of insanity, but over the past few weeks, Hidan had been threatening to go over the edge. Sasori didn't think it wise to push him.
"And you! Why the hell are you so Jashin-damned set on going out with a bang and leaving him alone?" Hidan stood there, breathing heavily, violet eyes shining with what might have been tears, for a few moments before he turned on his heel. The priest stormed out of the room, leaving the artists to think about what he had said.
After a few moments of stunned silence, Deidara turned to Sasori. "What was that all about, yeah?"
Sasori sighed. "I don't think that was entirely about us, brat."
Lone blue eye looking thoughtful, Deidara nodded. "He really misses Kakuzu, doesn't he?"
