Woo! I love the Original Six. :D Anyway, I tried to keep this as bereft of emotion as possible. And, I went and searched for images, and Xehanort and Xemnas are quite similar looking- enough to miss on a dark beach, certainly. Enjoy.

Xehanort regards his hands coolly, pulls a long strand of hair in front of his face for examination, and bends over the waves to catch a fleeting glimpse of his reflection. He nods once, and files the information in the back his head, to be written down later.

Subject displayed no outward changes. Internally, however…

He stands very still, eyes closed, and takes stock of himself. His mental facilities are all in place, and his memory is untouched. He knows what should be missing, but…ah. There it is. The sensation is odd at first, and it reminds him of numbness in a limb.

He should be pleased that he has succeeded, but, somehow that faculty is lost to him. His hands clench but relax soon; logic again is his rescue. He cannot feel—literally he is bereft of emotion. He also knows that he no longer possesses a heart. Therefore, the absence of the heart is the absence of all emotions.

Ansem had, for a time, insisted in the sanctity, the necessity, of the human soul. Xehanort knows that he has won this argument, for even with his soul he is the empty shell Ansem had warned him of.

the subject appears to be lacking various components previously considered to be essential. No detrimental effect has been displayed.

The others are not there, but he can find them. They will undoubtedly require his assistance, and he is willing to grant it. They have passed the last great hurdle.

Now, everything can begin.
