Disclaimer: I don't own Digimon.

"...up.., w.k. up, wake up Josh" I heard a voice calling me.

"Ok I'm awake what is so important that you had to wake me up Patamon" I asked.

"Did you forget it's the graduation ceremony for the training academy" it said.

"Oh crap your right thanks for the wakeup call Patamon" I told the holy digimon.

My name is Josh; I live with my older brother Jason and his fiancée Bethany. The digimon you just heard talking is patamon my brothers partner digimon. You see Jason and Bethany are part of a special government organization. The Digital Accident and Tactician Squad or DATS for short. Today is the day of my graduation from the training academy and I will finally be able to join DATS and receive my own partner digimon.

I realized I was going to be late so had to rush.

"Josh are you not going to eat breakfast" I heard someone say with a cat like purr.

I turned to look at where the speaker was and found Gatomon; Bethany's partner digimon looking at me.

"Sorry Gatomon I have to run, don't want to be late for graduation" I told her.

I made it to the academy with seconds to spare.

"Welcome graduates and family members" the commander said.

"Great the commander is going into a long speech time to tune him out" was what I was thinking.

Time skip to end of ceremony

"Now we will call each graduate up to the Digital DNA Scanner so that it can digitize some of your DNA to create your partner digimon" he explained.

"Get on with it" I thought.

Some useless talking and a few graduates later.

"Joshua Mattson step forward" it was time.

"All right let's do this" I stated with enthusiasm.

I stuck my right hand in the machine and it started; it took a blood sample and analyzed it when it was done I looked into the container and saw a digiegg and a digivice start to manifest. I took the egg and went back to my seat. I looked at the digiegg trying to discover what digimon laid dormant inside.

"Hmm judging by the red markings surrounding the egg it has to be a dramon digimon" hey what do you know that class on digimon types did help.

After the ceremony I found Jason and Bethany.

"Hmm a dramon egg not the most common of types" Jason stated.

"Yea only two other people got dramon eggs" three out of one hundred yea uncommon is an understatement.

We went home and I made sure the egg was warm enough. Now the hard part... waiting. It generally takes between six too twenty four hours for a new egg to hatch.

"Josh dinner time" I heard Bethany's voice call from the kitchen.

"Ok be right (crack)... there" I started to say but trailed of when I heard the egg start to hatch.

The egg had finally hatched and what came out was a little blue ball. Chibomon for the win.

"Uh hi there little guy my name is josh" I said to it.

"Hungry" was all it said. However I was prepared for this the classes at the academy said that all baby digimon were notoriously hungry and would eat until they had enough energy to digivolve.

I picked up chibomon and went down stairs.

"Guys my egg hatched say hello to Chibomon" I told everybody.

"Hello" said everybody.

Then we had dinner and chibomon ate and ate until.

"Chibomon digivolve to DemiVeemon" he made it to the in training level.

Now that he digivolved I can start taking missions from DATS headquarters. Tomorrow marks the start of a long and glorious journey.
