A poem lamenting the fall of Maugrim to become the Chief of the Secret Police. Slightly AU in that I've assumed he was once against the witch.

Maugrim, once mighty, is fallen.

He was brave,

fierce,

awesome,

loyal,

but Maugrim, once mighty, is fallen.

Maugrim, once mighty, is fallen.

He is fled,

gone,

escaped,

away;

yes, Maugrim, once mighty, is fallen.

Maugrim, once mighty, is fallen.

Overcome,

bribed,

persuaded,

threatened:

thus Maugrim, one mighty, is fallen.

Maugrim, once mighty, is fallen.

He is lost,

Hers,

evil.

I weep,

for Maugrim, once mighty, is fallen.
