I actually wrote this on my phone under the desk in Spanish one day.

I just found it again, so I'm wondering is it any good or not?

'THETE!' He awoke to the sound of Koschei striding into his room.

Theta was the only one left on Gallifrey who could get away with calling the Master, Koschei, anyone else who tried got verbally ripped to pieces.

'Thete! There's a glass of water by your bed, I will not hesitate to use it!'

Theta groaned and sat up rubbing his eyes, yawning he addressed Koschei. 'Good morning to you too Kosch,' he glanced at the clock hanging on the wall of his bedroom. 'Rasillon, why'd you wake me up so early?'

'Well...' He trailed off, looking away.

Theta raised an eyebrow 'Yes?'

'I wanted to watch the sunrise with you, okay?' he spoke quickly, still not looking at the younger Timelord. Theta pulled the covers off his legs and stood on his knees on the bed next his best friend, reaching out and touching the side of his Koschei's face lightly, turning his Koschei's face so he could look at him straight into his green emerald eyes. 'Why did you look away like you are embarrassed?'

Koschei stood up abruptly and Theta's hand fell limply down at his side.

'Just throw on some clothes, I'll be outside.' He said stiffly and walked out of the room hurriedly.

Theta sighed and got off the bed, stretched like a cat and ran his hands through his light brown hair.

Sauntering over to his wardrobe, and decided on a black shirt with white undershirt, paired a pair of skinny jeans and converse, he loved skinnies and converse, good for looks and good for running. He hoped he still wore them when he was older.

He walked out of his bedroom door, closing it behind him then glanced around for Koschei.

'Kosch?'

'Here.' Koschei stepped out of the shadows. 'Let's go.'

Theta tried to smile at him, but he couldn't. He was too confused. Something was going on. And Theta had a bad feeling.

They just reached the hill outside of the Citadel just as the blinding suns rose from behind the mountains of Solace, making the glass encased city shine and glisten all tones of red, yellows and pinks. Theta smiled at how beautiful his people's city, his city, was. He glanced sideways at Koschei.

Normally he could tell exactly what Koschei was thinking but recently it had been getting harder and harder to tell. Koschei turned and looked at Theta.

'Isn't it beautiful Kosch?' Theta knew something was going to happen, he begged at Koschei with his eyes to humour him. But Koschei never realized what that look meant. He had blocked his emotions. Emotions were weakness.

'Yes, but it is superficial. It's only surface-deep. That's what I wanted to talk to you about Thete.'

'Koschei...'

'I'm leaving. The only thing left for me here is you, and we are forbidden to be together by the council.'

'But Koschei, that doesn't mean we have to be apart!'

'I'm sorry Theta.'

Koschei turned and walked slowly down the hill and out of Theta's life, leaving his childhood best friend alone on the hill. His legs gave out and he lay there sprawled in the red grass. He cried out when he felt his mental bond with Koschei break. He lay there until the suns had fully risen and where high in the sky above him. He felt empty. He felt alone. His Koschei had been the only one on Gallifrey who ever understood him. But Koschei was gone. And had taken Theta with him. Leaving only The On Coming Storm. The Lonely God. The Doctor.
