Hey everyone. This drabble was written for September Event: Back to School. I used prompt 1. (word) Question. I hope you all enjoy Maybe.
Padma wants wants to swat Hermione's hand out of the air as soon as the question was out of Professor Binns mouth. Didn't that bushy haired know-it-all Gryffindor know that she wasn't the only one in the classroom with the answers. Padma hears herself sigh in defeat as the professor doles out more compliments to Hermione Granger. Most importantly more points too.
So it isn't surprising when the Gryffindor comes up to her after class is over. Padma is surprised that anyone could hear the sigh she left loose what with know-it-all Hermione in the room.
"Can I help you?" she asks Hermione eyebrow raised in sign of annoyance at the other girl.
"I was wondering if you wanted to partner with me for the project that Binns just gave us," Hermione says smiling in a friendly way. "We can each take half of the questions and answer them. If you like?"
She looks over at Parvati who she had hoped to partner with but her twin sister was already paired with Lavender Brown. Padma thinks it can't get much worse now. Then it hits her perhaps it would be more helpful to have the know-it-all as her partner.
"Okay," Padma tells Hermione as they go about dividing up the questions. Maybe she'd even out smart Hermione Granger. Maybe.
