CHAPTER 1: The Ancient Prophecy
Long ago when Gods and Goddesses walked the planets, peace and happiness reigned upon the lands. The Light was ever so bright but then the beings of Light began to see the light dwell. Darkness became stronger. Mankind had been born. And through their greed, selfishness and their dark desires the planets begun to suffer. Mankind seeing the Beings of Light's power became fearful of these peaceful beings and sought to destroy them and obtain their power.
The second most powerful Being of Light Aalok knew the darkness better than any other being, He knew every being's deepest darkest secrets and desires. After mankind was born so to was hell and the beautiful Aalok became its keeper. Making sure all the damned remained in Hell.
Thousands of years passed and Aalok becoming tired of the humans and their dark souls. He went to the Father of All seeking the human's entire destruction as because of them the planets and the Beings of Light were being destroyed.
But the Father of All denied Aalok's request telling him that mankind was the youngest of all races and needed to be guided.
Aalok left angered a darkness in himself that begun to grow and decided he would prove that the humans would not be guided but tempted and then the Father of All would see the error of his decision. Hell became fuller with damned souls as Aalok tempted them many times. He became angry as it was far too easy in tempting the humans into his bidding. Once again, he approached Father of All. But Father of All denied his request once again saying he proved nothing and that not all of humanity had fallen under his temptation and that there was still hope for humanity. Aalok grew frustrated and waged war upon Father of All and humanity.
Then he turned his attention to the Beings of Light as they had chosen not to follow him. But followed Father of All. Whispers of a prophecy reached Hell that a girl from the Beings of Light would be born. Her beauty would not be surpassed, her powers and intelligence would not be surpassed she was light incarnate. Aalok sent his most trusted follower Astaroth to learn more. Astaroth had learnt from the prophecy that she'd be born with long wavy jet black hair (a rarity for the Beings of Light to have such coloured hair. Only Father of All and his son had such hair colour) The girl would be the light and her true love would be the darkness. Aalok interrupting this to be himself that he would have to guard her from the dark and thus become darker than any other being in order to protect her and therefore he decided to make the prophecy become true he turned his attention on the Beings of Light and begun to destroy them.
Then the beautiful god Aalok was no longer known to the Beings of Light but became "The God of Evil"
The room was dark and on the right-hand side was a small bunk bed with chocobo covered quilt sheets and a small red chair. The boy that occupied the room was only six but was very tall for his age. He looked in the small round mirror that hung lob sided on the wall. His long silver hair hung in front of his face. He sighed he really hated being here…Even more so since that day Professor Gast had left and that inexperienced man had become the head of the science department. He sighed. Sat back on his chair and picked up a maths book and began to read it.
Footsteps approached the room. He stopped reading and looked up. A tall man entered the room. He wore a black suit and his hair was swept into a ponytail. He had kind chocolate brown eyes but looked incredibly bored.
"Sephiroth how are you today? I have good news you have a roommate Shizuka come on in do not be shy."
Tseng entered the room with a very small girl. Sephiroth starred in shock at the girl her face was covered in bruises and arms was just as bad. But what shocked Sephiroth more was the girl's eyes they were a deep midnight blue and that seemed to twinkle and her hair was an incredible jet black and was it Sephiroth's imagination but her hair seemed to sparkle?
"What has happened to her?" Questioned Sephiroth
"She has been ill for a little bit but is a lot better now. Sephiroth, Shizuka is very special just like you and we want you to take care of her." Answered Tseng.
Sephiroth looked at the girl again she looked at him and he seemed lost in her eyes. He starred at her. He highly doubted that she was better she looked a real mess. However, she seemed different somehow…Like him…Her eyes told him so.
"Who did this to her?" Sephiroth asked
"Why don't you ask her. Now am going to leave you both so then you can get acquainted. Do not worry Shizuka you will be ok with Sephiroth"
Shizuka stared into Tseng's eyes and as he met her eyes he begun to feel weak, tired ad as she spoke he felt a harsh coldness erupt around his body. "You are a liar, a murderer and you know full well me and that boy you call Sephiroth will not be ok." Tseng fell to his knees. Sephiroth stared in shock the room had become colder he knew this as the windows had become frosted over and Tseng's lips had turned blue. Yet Sephiroth was unaffected. Shizuka stopped looking at Tseng and walked past Sepiroth and sat down in the corner of the room not looking at either of them. She put her hands over her ears and closed her eyes. Tseng's breathing was heavy and he slowly composed himself, stood and did not look at the children and quickly left and locked the door behind him. He walked quickly away from the room, he wanted to run from the building but he willed himself to the labs. How did the girl do this to him? She had made him look into her eyes and then she had nearly frozen him to death. He still could not forget the images of her when the Turks had first found her. He entered the room above the children's bedroom. A man swung his chair round. He wore round rimmed glasses, a greasy black pony tail and a huge smile that highlighted his mad features.
The children continued to stare at one another. Only now Sephiroth had realized that Shizuka held a soft purple and silver unicorn in her arms.
"Are you ok? May I ask what happened to you?" Asked Sephiroth.
Shizuka did not reply she hugged her soft toy and quietly said, yet as clear as water. "I did not do that. I was stopping them from killing Tseng and now I'm going to get the blame. I would never harm a human."
"Err what do you mean?" Sephiroth asked.
Shizuka looked up at Sephiroth and stared at him in horror. She stood up and threw her arms around him. Sephiroth stood, motionless and in shock.
"Are you ok?" He asked nervously. Wanting to pry her off him but not wanting to further any injuries to her so stood there motionless.
"They want you as well." She said quietly.
Professor Hojo continued to watch the children on his monitor. He smiled as he watched Shizuka embrace Sephiroth.
"Hehehe this is simply perfect. Imagine how happy I was when you Tseng found a child that was covered in so much physical and magical abuse that should have died but she was healing herself! Then a couple of experiments to determine what she is. How happy was I when I crossed Ifalna's's DNA with hers. Shizuka is a pure blood Ancient! However, Shizuka's DNA was different...I am almost certain she is not from this planet...Ifalna's DNA compared to Shizuka's was inferior. Hahaha and when Sephiroth and Shizuka are both old enough I shall have them mate and then I will have the perfect sample! Hehehe I am simply a genius!"
"Professor no disrespect but what makes you think that…" Tseng got his usual feeling when he was around this man. He felt sick to the stomach.
"Mate? Hahaha after watching that inexcusable pathetic so called Professor Gast and Ifalna's video tapes. Apparently, there was a prophecy that a girl with the darkest of hair…Apparently Ancient women have never had black hair…For that would be her mark for the Dark One…It seems that the Dark One what the Ancients call has already revealed himself I am pretty sure that he is the reason why she was so badly injured… This book has also been very helpful" Professor Hojo continued to watch the children and seemed to forget that Tseng was there.
"Oh, yes my answer to your question Tseng when she grows she will simply be irresistible. Hehehe. Remember that you are young Tseng so your opinions do not count."
"Professor aren't you going to talk about what she just did to me?" Tseng now had the professor's full attention he spun his chair around, facing Tseng. "What are you complaining about now Tseng?"
"She almost froze me to death! And she knew things about me...How did she know? I know when we entered that house and all those dead people...Thousands of them and only she survived? Covered in blood. I knew we should have left her...She's evil..."
"Evil? Ha! What nonsense! And was it really her that did that to you?"
"What are you saying professor? That it was Sephiroth?" Tseng said flabbergasted.
"Sephiroth? Oh no, no, no."
Tseng stood there flabbergasted. He did not know what to say. "That girl is an abomination and whatever these "Ancient" books say are just fairy tales, professor and I suggest you get your head out of them and do some true scientific work." Tseng knew he had gone too far before he had even finished speaking.
Hojo swung the chair to the ground and stood face to face with Tseng. "I really wouldn't threaten me Tseng the last Turk that crossed me became an abomination. And if you speak to me like that again. The official story will be that your missing in action but you won't be that lucky to have died by the nasty claws of a Behemoth no, you will have the nasty unfortunate time of being in my laboratory and I will keep you alive for many years and you will wish you was dead and ShinRa could find out the truth but do you think he will care? Who do you think he values? Another expendable Turk of which you are fully aware he does not have much faith in your boss or the head of the science department?" Tseng did not move as he was fully aware of the needles in the professor's lab coat and did not want to become another victim of the professor's freakish experiments.
"Now I have made my point." Hojo turned away and walked to the monitors and picked up his chair and sat back down. And begun watching the screens again. He sternly said. "Run along boy."
Tseng began to walk away feeling extremely anxious about the girl and the fact that he had agitated the most unpredictable mad man he had ever met and working for ShinRa that was saying something.
Professor Hojo looked at the monitor. Shizuka was still clinging to Sephiroth. He would once again go through the tapes that Gast had recorded of Ifalna and he knew no matter how many times he would go through them and Ifalna was right this was the girl she spoke off. How interesting! Hojo's insane laughed echoed through the sixty-ninth floor of the ShinRa building.
