Not Bad For a Monday

The Scavengers once had an almost successful attack on Legion headquarters. That was when they had an arsenal provided by Alex trying to get Superwoman's friendship all to himself. It was that or he wanted into Superwoman's tights; Brainy had Lightning Lass to thank for that mental image.

Today the Scavengers showed how truly idiotic they truly were. They were smart enough to wait to attack when there were only Legionnaires at the headquarters. They were moronic not to flee when they discovered those two Legionnaires were Superwoman and Brainiac Five. They were practically retarded to target Brainy's lab.

The weapons the Scavengers brought were numerous but sub-par in comparison to the one provided by the latest in the Luthor line. They made for a shiny distraction while their wielders tried to get to Brainy's armory.

As Superman kept all the laser fire from hitting anything vital or explosive in the lab, Brainy cut the Scavengers off at the door. She smiled daintily at them, tilting her head to the side making her long ponytail swish back and forth like a pendulum.

"You gentlemen wouldn't really steal from a girl, would you?" the Coluan didn't even have to bat her eyelashes to get the male Scavengers all flustered. She extended her arm and punched the six that had made it to the door out all at once and then rolled her eyes as she stepped over them, "Boys."

By the time Superwoman had finished disarming and rendering numerous Scavengers unconscious she looked up to see Brainy holding a weapon that should have toppled her over with the sheer size of the bazooka looking weapon, chasing away the remaining Scavengers that weren't in an unconscious pile at her feet.

Face flushed, Superwoman tucked back some of her hair, which ended a little above her shoulders, and tried to straighten her dark locks a little. She doubted she looked as good as Brainy did right now with battle torn clothes, smudged lipstick and a small burn in her boot from where a laser had just skimmed her ankle.

As Superwoman approached Brainy, she found a Legion ring discarded on the ground. She picked it up and, once close enough, took hold of Brainy's left hand and slipped it back on.

"Claire, that wasn't my ring," Brainy lifted her right hand to show her. "And you picked an interesting finger to put it on."

Heat vision nearly erupted out of Superwoman's eyes as her face became redder then her cape. Still, she kept hold of the shorter girl's hand, even bringing it up to graze her lips over the green knuckles.

"Freudian slip?" Superwoman failed at keeping her voice even.

Now Brainy's face burned a darker shade of green, holding the Kryptonian's hand in return.

"I believe," Brainy swallowed, failing to keep her gaze from falling downward, "That one receives a kiss when accepting such a ring."

"I believe you would be right Queraline," Superwoman smiled, cupping Brainy's face with her free hand and her lips abandoned green knuckles in favor of softer, eager lips to smear away whatever was left of their respective lipstick until Superman's were green and Brainy's were a sparking pink.

It wasn't a bad day, for a Monday.
