Understandably, tension filled Granny's diner as Regina Mills entered. Her Majesty registered it and ducked her head shyly, taking a corner booth. There was something almost timid about the former mayor as she sat down, trying to smother a smile. Ruby was just about to go and handle her when Granny rested a hand on the young woman's shoulder, going to deal with the Evil Queen herself.

Regina glanced up and smiled, "Could I have a cup of coffee to start, please?"

Granny arched an eyebrow, "Need some caffeine to plot your evil schemes?" She jeered.

Regina's gaze fell to the table, "…actually I was meeting Henry here, for lunch," she murmured meekly.

Granny was, for the first time in awhile, struck speechless. She didn't think it possible for Regina to be sincere but here she was, anxious as a girl on her first date. Of course she knew what had happened, Charming taking custody of Henry and all. She just never thought it would affect the Evil Queen.

She poured Regina her coffee and Regina thanked her, glancing up at the clock every so often. Five minutes later, Regina ordered a hot chocolate.

"Make sure to remember the cinnamon," she added without condescension, simply nervous that such an important detail may slip her mind.

Granny didn't point out the fact she'd been making his hot chocolate here since he was old enough to hold a mug.

"Of course."

The hot chocolate was delivered promptly, with whipped cream and cinnamon.

Time passed. Regina kept glancing at the door, then at the clock, then down at her hands. She had a refill. Customers came and went. The whipped cream and cinnamon dissolved into the hot chocolate.

Finally after forty-five minutes Regina slapped a twenty down on the table and disappeared, face flushed and trying to hide the tears that threatened to spill out. The door rattled as she slammed it and, despite everything the woman had put them all through, Granny couldn't help but feel sorry for her.

David Nolan glanced down at his phone. Charming wondered why Regina was in his contacts list...until the David part of his mind kicked in and reminded him that she had been his emergency contact. And the mayor. And he had considered her something of a friend because of her relationship with Kathryn. So he picked up.

"What is it, Regina?"

The former Evil Queen cleared her throat, "I think Henry's going to my vault."

David's eyebrows furrowed in confusion, "No, he's at school, I walked him to the bus stop."

"Then he gave you the slip," Her voice was tired and strained, "He...told me he would meet me for lunch at Granny's, but he never came. My keys are missing from my office..."

"I don't know where your vault is," David said bluntly, "Maybe you should go after him."

"He won't go with me," Regina muttered, taking a deep breath, "...he doesn't want to see me."

He was silent for a moment, "...are you alright, Regina?"

"No," she admitted and he could practically see her clenching her jaw, "Just...go to my family mausoleum in the cemetary and make sure he doesn't get hurt," she hesitated for a moment, and then added, "Please."

The line went dead.

Regina buried her face in her hands, tempted to rip out her own hair. How could she have been so stupid... No one could ever love an evil queen.

IIIII

I personally think they left it out before it was too freaking heartbreaking. Seriously, Henry, that was low. Also, first story that hasn't even included a mention of Rumplestiltskin or Mr. Gold; yay me for branching out!
