A/N Set in the Defying Gravity universe Snapshot 1 drabble in which Jesse & Rachel's daughter Harmony learns more about her parents than she ever wanted to. Written for the Week prompt St. Babies
"Mummy! I'm home. Did you get my text about the school closing when the water main..." Harmony came to an abrupt halt. "Mummy! What the?" She stared in disbelief at her mother who was trying somewhat unsuccessfully to quickly wrap a throw around herself. To Harmony's keen eye, her mother was, apparently wearing nothing aside from said throw.
A closer look around revealed various articles of both men's and women's apparel discarded about the room. "OMG! You're cheating on Daddy! He left for LA only this morning and you're cheating on him? How could you do this? I'll become another casualty of a broken home! You'll move into a dingy little apartment and I'll get shuffled between the two places, never really having a home. I'll grow up totally dysfunctional and end up smoking and taking drugs as an act of rebellion, and run off to Paris to find myself only to die in some tragic way unable to reach the stardom that I…"
As her overly dramatic (not a surprise considering who her parents were) daughter carried on her monologue of doom, Rachel marched over to the discarded pair of men's boxers, and calmly retrieving them, tossed them behind the huge L-shaped seating unit. Some muttering ensued from behind said furniture before Jesse stood up looking more than a little disheveled.
"HARMONY!" he roared (it was the only way to get his teenage daughter's attention most times lately).
Harmony stopped in mid-rant and her eyes grew round. "Daddy?" Her gaze whipped back and forth between her two parents and the reality of the situation finally sank in. Her parents had been nearly caught in flagrante delicto, in the living room no less. Her parents, who had only been apart some four hours! Which meant. Harmony paused and shuddered at the idea of her parents having a sex life and apparently a very active one. Their reasons for keeping their bedroom door locked and having had it soundproofed suddenly took on an entirely different meaning other than "we want to be able to practice lines and sing without disturbing anyone. "
"Yes, my darling daughter. Your mother is not having an affair. My flight was cancelled due to the weather and I came straight back home."
Harmony stared at her parents before wailing "EWWW! My eyes! My eyes! I'm going to need therapy!" and rushed off to her room slamming the door behind her.
Jesse turned to his wife. "Maybe that out of state boarding school isn't such a bad idea."
