It still hurt at first. He never could get use to that first moment of pain as he was taken. It faded to a dull throb, though, as it always did. The adrenaline rush kicked in to make sure the discomfort didn't last long as the body above him began to bite and taste his neck. Ellis let out a small yelp in surprise. He closed his eyes closed as fire coursed through him, sourced at the mouth that roamed over his neck to his shoulder. Hands eagerly clawed at his shirt, tearing the fabric away from his skin and exposing his abdomen. The southerner shied away from from those prying fingers. He tried his best to think straight as heat flooded his mind. It dawned on him that he was being toyed with. This time felt different from the others. Instead of a hurried frenzy, there was a sense of purpose. A shift in intent as the nails lightly scratched over his chest and stomach. The body above him groaned. The sound sent a shiver down the southerner's spine. He opened his mouth to call out, Nick's name on the tip of his tongue, when a particularly sharp bite pierced his hazy mind and turned the word into a gasp of pain.

Though his limbs felt heavy, Ellis managed to place his hands on the other's shoulders and push back. He was surprised when the gentle pressure worked. The body above him ceased its assault. Glassy green eyes opened to peer up at a Cheshire grin. His breathes were coming in pants as the heat in his veins increased. His mind felt numb and helpless to the unfamiliar sensations that filled him. That cruel mouth bent over him again, tongue lapping at the bites. Ellis felt his back arch as the wet heat sent a fresh wave through his blood. It was this almost gentle gesture, this caress over his throbbing pulse point, that made him realize a peculiar notion.

Not a single member of his survivor family had been bitten by a Special Infected. The S.I. always attacked with their claws and killed their prey before eating it. So while he and his group were apparently immune to common strain of the virus that spread through the bite of general infected, the same couldn't be said about the S.I.. Though, if the fire that spread through him at the touch of the other's teeth was any indication, there was no such thing as immunity.
