This poem was written for the Year Long Scavenger Hunt on HPFC. (#1 of the 50 pointers) and inspired by the quote "It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live, remember that." – Albus Dumbledore, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

Dream Softly, Live Deeply

The point at which our minds commandeer,
rational thoughts of which we fear,
replacing them with fanciful dreams,
is the point at which the world would seem,
blissful in its repose,
and often we may choose to go,
toward the first and last delight,
until the dream reveals its bite.

We are creatures of uncertainty,
nearing truths in states of urgency,
but nothing would be more remiss,
to suggest reality be dismissed,
in favor of the world of dreams,
which draw you in, as it would seem.

When we pursue what cannot be,
we forget to live and fail to see,
the beauty of our lives laid flat.
Before you escape, remember that.
