"Are you ready for tomorrow?"
"Truth to be told, I'm a little anxious."
"What is there to be anxious about?" His velvety voice asked.
"I don't know. It's just hard knowing that this will be the last time I will get to see my mom before the wedding. I'm just glad I get to spend four days with her."
Luckily, Edward and I had planned to spend some of the four rainiest days of Florida with my mom before the wedding. I was happy I was finally getting to spend some time with my mom, but the last time Edward and I paid her a visit she couldn't keep her eyes off Edward and me.
It was the middle of "storm season" in Forks and luckily I had Edward there to keep me company through the storm. It seemed to be getting nosier with each rolling sound of thunder and I laid there unmoving in his stone arms until each ripple of thunder had me shaking.
"Shhh, it's okay. I'm here." He said soothingly.
"I know. That's what makes everything perfect…….you being here."
"I'll always be here."
With those words I reached up for a quick kiss, but surprisingly he deepened the kiss, which pleased me more than anything. He continued trying to leave me breathless and before I knew it, I was underneath him with my hands knotted in his hair with him leaving gasping for air when he released my lips for the few seconds he granted me.
He stopped way too quickly for my taste, "Charlie's coming."
In that same instant a flashlight was being shone in my face, "Hey Bells. I didn't mean to wake you, but the power just went out and I'm going to head down to the station to see if I can get this back on as soon as possible."
"Okay. How long will you be gone?"
"I'm not sure."
"Well, I guess I'll see you later because Edward and I are leaving for Renee's tomorrow." I informed him.
"Oh. It completely slipped my mind. You guys be careful and call me as soon as you get to Renee's."
"Kay. I'll see you later."
Before I knew it Edward was gathering up blankets and piling them on top of me, "What are you doing?"
"Well, if the power is out that means no heat. With no heat your going to get very cold and your going to get even colder laying next to me."
By the time he was finished wrapping me into a cocoon there was no way I was getting out of it and sadly Edward laid at unbearable distance away from me.
"Edward, please. Just let me lay a little bit closer to you. I can't sleep when I'm this far away from you."
He slid his hands underneath my fragile body and slid me on top of him and I molded myself to meet the shape of him and I sighed in contentment.
He interrupted me falling into my sleep, "Would you like to come over to my place tomorrow to get showered and ready before we head to the airport tomorrow afternoon?"
"Mmmm, that sounds nice." I mumbled. At least I wouldn't have to get ready in the dark and shower in the cold, but the cold didn't seem to bother me anymore.
