Chapter 1

"Buffy you have to be more serious about this. You're meeting the council and all you care about is you're TV programs!" Giles sneers as he pushes Buffy along the Cardiff Airport.

"Yeah well I don't want to miss them! Besides it's probably nothing." Buffy moans, Giles and Buffy get into a taxi and head towards their hotel. "So you've never been abroad before?" Giles asks breaking the silence. "I've been to Mexico once but…that's it." Buffy sighs and looks out of the window.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

"WHAT THE HELL!?" Buffy shouts. "DRIVER STOP!" Giles screams. They all look out of the windscreen in silence. Then, out of nowhere a purple skinned man runs in front of them, he has bright red hair, eyes and fingernails and he wore dark clothing. Following him was another man with a dark blue trench coat, charming face and broad shoulders. Buffy, without thinking starts to chase after them.

"HEY! HEY!" Buffy calls out to the two men. The three strangers kept on chasing each other until they end up at a dead end.

"DROP DOWN TO YOUR KNEES ALIEN!" The soldier pulls out his gun and points it at the man with the strange complexion. "How many times do I have to tell you that I am not an alien!" The soldier knees him in the gut, blood starts to trickle down his mouth.

"THAT'S IT!" The purple skinned man, grabs the soldier's gun before he could do anything and swings a sword right at his face. The purple man ran for it and was gone, quick as lightning, before Buffy and the soldier could do anything.

"Who are you?" the soldier asks not turning around.

"That's what I should ask you. Why didn't you kill that demon when you had the chance?" Buffy takes a step forward. She is ready to fight if necessary.

"Demon? That was an alien." The soldier turns around and looks Buffy in the eye. Buffy laughs. "Alien?! You can't be serious!"

"Didn't you see that star with the explosions?" the soldier picks up his gun from the floor.

"I was at my dad's so I didn't watch the news."

"Seriously?" Buffy nods.

"I'm Buffy."

"Captain Jack Harkness."

Giles runs down the alley, he was panting like a dog. "Did you…get the….." He pauses and wipes his brow. "Dee...cat?"

"Don't worry. He knows. But let me tell you, that that demon is mine." Buffy turns and leaves.

"Torchwood will get the alien first, you can be sure of that."

Giles eyes Jack suspiciously then leave to follow Buffy. The Captain disappears into the darkness.

"What the hell was that guy's problem? "I'm captain Jack Harkness! I'm a gorgeous soldier!"" Buffy quotes in a cheesy army voice for the hundredth time. Buffy pauses, thinking. "Do you think he could know Riley?"

"Buffy, Riley left you for no good reason. I'm sure you can do much better." Giles leans forward and places his hand on her knee.

"I hope you're right." Buffy looks out the window.
