Cuddle Bugs

Luna crawled into bed next to her husband of three years, Ronald Bilius Weasley. He turned to glance at her quickly before flopping flat on his back again. Luna sighed lightly and rolled over to face the window, away from Ron. Ever since their honeymoon, this had become the "norm."

Not that their marriage was devoid of passion, of course, but Ron was neither affectionate nor romantic, and Luna had come to accept that. Luna pulled the blankets up to her chin. "Ronnie?"

Ron grunted, tugged the blankets more towards him slightly, and then muttered, "What, Lune?"

Luna rolled over to her other side and looked at her husband, "It wouldn't kill you to be a bit more cordial, you know…" She glared at him for a moment before her features softened again, "Sorry. Ron, we are going to have a baby." She rolled back towards the window, her mission complete.

The bed shifted as Ron rolled onto his side and shifted towards Luna. "Really?"

Luna nodded, "I'm sorry, Ronald."

Ron's arms wrapped around her waist from behind, "Don't be, I've always wanted a family." He gently kissed the back of her neck.

Luna smiled, "This is nice."

"What's nice?"

Luna scooted closer to Ron and smiled as his hands spread across her still flat belly. "This, Ron. We're cuddling; do you know when the last time we cuddled was?" He didn't answer and she giggled, "Our wedding night, Ronald." There was a long silence before she whispered, "Why don't we cuddle?"

Ron nuzzled her shoulder, "I never meant for us to stop, but you started sleeping facing away from me so I thought it was what you wanted."

"I faced away so it would be easier for you to wrap your arms around me, Ron. I thought you didn't want to cuddle, you always slept on your back away from me."

Ron chuckled, "Only so you could roll towards me and… you know… drape one arm over my chest and rest your head on my shoulder or whatever. I thought I was making it easier for you."

Luna giggled, "We've both been sort of silly then, haven't we? But now that we know, we won't make the same mistake again. We'll alternate, okay? I'm glad we settled it before the baby comes, though."

Ron nodded, "I love you, Luna."

"Love you, too, Ron." She sighed—happily this time—and allowed herself to fall asleep.
