A Shoulder To Cry On- A short J/L one shot based around the events of tonight's episode. This takes place after the Lauren/Kirsty scene in the square & before Lauren returns home & has the meal with the rest of her family. Enjoy :)
:
Lauren stared after Kirsty as she went for the night shift at The Vic, conflicted on where to go next. She knew she would have to go the minute mart sudden or later for the bottle of wine she promised her father but right now, she did need a shoulder to cry on but not Kirsty's. She wanted Joey's, in fact she wanted just him in general and found herself knocking on his door. Alice answered, smiling, surprised to see her.
"Hey, Lauren. What's wrong?" She asked, letting her in.
"Is he in?" Lauren questioned, looking around. Alice nodded, looking at the living room door. Lauren smiled and walked in. Joey looked up at her and gave her a small smile.
"Hey" She said, sitting on the edge of the sofa.
"What's up?" He asked, moving closer to her.
"Kirsty drama" She admitted with a sigh.
"What did she do now?" He questioned, looking at her.
"The usual. Trying to break up the family. I tried to talking to her but I gave up, because I felt like a hypocrite" Lauren replied. He took one of her hands which were in a clasped state on her lap.
"Why would you feel like a hypocrite with Kirsty of all people?" Joey asked. She looked at him and sighed.
"I said if she really loves my dad, she'll do as he says and leave. But I didn't do as you said when you told me to leave you alone and forget about you" She told him, looking at him and sighing.
"That was different, babe and you know it. Your dad doesn't actually feel the same as Kirsty" He said, squeezing her hand out of reassurance.
"I didn't know it at the time though. I thought.." Her voice trailed off, not wanting to bring up painful memories. He exhaled deeply, moving in the centre of the sofa, opening out his arms.
"Come on" Joey said. Lauren smiled a little, taking off her coat and laid in his waiting arms which quickly tightened around her as she laid her head on her chest.
"I will never be able to say how sorry I am for that and I feel like a coward for your mum having to tell you but we are here now. Whatever happens now, we do together, just don't feel like your the same as Kirsty. Please" He told her, lightly playing with her hair. She looked up at him, their eyes locking, his full of confusion slightly as he tried to work out what was on Lauren's mind now.
"I love you" She simply told him, smiling. He lifted her head, tucking her hair behind her ear and pulling her into a kiss.
"I love you too" He whispered against her lips before carrying on the kiss...
"Not the thing I wanna see, guys" Alice exclaimed, after a moment, walking in, them not knowing she was outside listening.
"I'm gonna have to go anyways.
Dad was expecting a bottle of wine 20 minutes ago. See you guys later" Lauren said, standing up, giving Joey a kiss goodbye, waved at Alice and left. Alice waited until she heard the front door shut and then chucked a cushion at Joey who gasped.
"What was that for, Al?" He asked, staring at her, laughing a little.
"Did I or did I not a. see your hair thing and b. hear you tell a girl you love her?!" She questioned, crossing her arms.
"No idea what your talking about" He said, smirking as he chucked the cushion back at her.
"That girl deserves a medal she really does. Aww, this is so cute" Alice exclaimed, jumping on and dived on him, hugging him tightly.
"Okay, Al, I can't breathe" He said, laughing and hugged her back...
