Hello, I've been planning on doing this for the past year, I'm hoping to slowly work my way through my story just tidying it up and rewriting it. I will also be removing all the A/N and anything else that I find to be cluttering up the page.
I have written plot details for a sequel to this story and written the first chapter. I am currently watching digimon subbed again to familiarise myself with the characters before trying to write anything substantial, and I want to finished rewriting this before I even consider a sequel seeing as I find this story can happily stand on its own anyway.
I will remove this note after I have finished the rewrite.
Chapter 1 – Weakening
Takeru let out a sigh of relief as he exited the hospital, one arm carefully supporting the other, stopping it from swinging about in the sling.
Man, I'm glad that's over. I thought I'd never leave. He thought to himself, glad to be out in the fresh air after hours of waiting about.
Carefully, he opened the door to the taxi he ordered, deciding that it wasn't the best idea to be navigating the train home under pain medication. He told the driver his address and leaned back against the rest pulling his phone out with his good arm to check his messages.
'You have 14 missed messages.'
Takeru flicked through the message all repeating a similar message of if he is ok and where he was. Quickly he sent out a message to everyone quickly explaining he clumsily tripped down the stairs and ended up breaking his arm.
Though I swear it felt like someone tripped me. He pondered as he finished sending the message, quickly closing up the phone and placing it in his pocket. Takeru let his head thump against the car window, ignoring the side look from the driver, and just watched the world go by until he recognised the apartment building steadily approaching.
Takeru handed his money over to the driver and stepped out of the taxi looking up at the apartment block deep in thought.
"TAKERU! Are you ok?" A high pitch shout threw him out of his thoughts and he turned his head towards the voice seeing Hikari and Taichi running towards him, concern etching both of the siblings faces.
"Takeru you alright man? We got your text and came over as quickly as we could." Taichi asks, eyes quickly scanning his body checking for any additional injures to the broken arm.
"I only took a little tumble, nothing to worry about" Takeru laughed, scratching the back of his head completely embarrassed about the situation he got himself into.
Hikari's concern quickly changed as she threw him a serious look, "You should be more careful next time!" she chastised causing Takeru to give a massive reassuring hug, ignoring Taichi closely watching the pair of them.
"Don't worry I will, I would never do anything to hurt you" Takeru said softly, comforting her slightly.
Taichi, completely ignoring the pair hugging carries on with the conversation, snapping the pair out of their embrace, "Would you still like to come over today? Mums not in so I'll be cooking. Also will you still be ok to help out organising for the trip to the digital world in a couple of weeks?"
"Oh! Yes I can still help." Takeru quickly reassures, remembering the plans the group had been making for weeks, painstakingly matching up everyone's schedule and preparing meals just to go and have a picnic in the digital world with everyone present for once. "Though I think this evening I'm just going to head home. The accident and the trip to the hospital has tired me out. Jeez, who would have thought waiting would be so exhausting."
Hikari pulled a concerned face, clearing back to worrying over Takeru again, getting prepared to jump into caring mode when Taichi intervened,
"No problem Takeru, Hikari will see you tomorrow at school anyway. Unless you're skipping tomorrow"
"Don't worry, I'll be there tomorrow. It's only a broken arm." Takeru replied, smiling brightly at the pair.
"Right! We'll see you later!" Taichi says, waving while Hikari gave Takeru a hug as they walked their separate ways, Takeru just looking forward to crashing into his bed after getting a decent home meal into his belly.
'It's been a long day' He thought, making his way up the stairs towards his mother's apartment.
Perched delicately on a bannister, opposite Takeru's apartment, a digimon carefully watched the teenager navigate his way up the set of stairs, before letting himself through a blue door and shutting it behind him.
"What do we do now master?" The small digimon questioned.
"Wait until it gets dark and when we know the boy is fast asleep we continue on with the plan." The other digimon replied, silently weighing his options as the sun slowly started to set on the city.
"Yes Sir! I definitely won't fail you this time master" The little digimon declared, almost puffing out his chest in confidence.
The larger digimon smirked, pulling out the small syringe containing pitch black liquid and handed it to Demidevimon.
"You best not fail me Demidevimon, there are fates much worse than death and I will make sure you fully know them if you mess this up. I would do it myself, but with my size and dark presence the boy is sure to notice me in such close quarters."
"Yes Boss!" Demidevimon cried fearfully, before grabbing the syringe with his claw before going off to find somewhere to wait until it got darker.
"You better not fail me" The other digimon said to himself, watching his subordinate fly off towards the set of apartments.
Demidevimon flew silently to a ledge closer to the apartment but still keeping well out of range and sight before settling down, watching as the lights in the apartment came on as darkness fell upon the city before going out all together as the residents went to sleep.
Waiting for a little bit longer to make sure everyone inside was fast asleep, he quickly took off and flew in through the open window, glad for the hot weather making his job easier. Carefully he landed in the living room on a squishy sofa.
The digimon scanned the room, moonlight shining through the window and gently illuminating the apartment.
Eyes soon fell upon one of the doors that was painted with the crest of hope symbol in a bright yellow. The slow digimon took a couple of minutes to put two and two together before grinning and heading silently into the bedroom.
Peeking around the door he could see the blond boy silently sleeping on the bed, next his head on the dresser was a box of painkillers and a glass of water.
Preparing the syringe in his claw he flew up to the teenager, quickly injecting him with the liquid, hoping the pill the boy had taken would kill some of the pain from the injection, allowing his ability to work easier as Takeru started to stir slightly.
"Nothing is wrong, go back to sleep" the digimon whispered using his Evil Whisper ability, calming the boy as he quickly drifted back to sleep. Demidevimon slipped out of the apartment, grinning happily at a job well done, leaving the pawn to his sweet dreams.
