Thinking

He just sat there against the wall. Elbow propped up on his knee. Thinking. Thinking of Gwen. His Guinevere. Her tan skin, perfect curls, soft skin.

He wanted her.

Arthur wanted to show her how much he loved her. He wanted to kiss her perfect lips, and tangle his fingers in her wild curls. Be the one who took her dress off, to undo her hair. To be the only one to make love with her because he did love her. So very much. When it was all over, he promised himself he would.

He hoped she felt the same.

Gwen always performed her duties perfectly and on time. She always had a daily routine, ending the same way. Sitting at home, mindlessly eating dinner and thinking about Arthur.

My God how much she wanted him. It'd been weeks since she'd seen him, months. They'd only ever kissed, but she admitted it even to herself, Gwen was always left wanting more.

She wanted to run her fingers through his hair, and kiss his lips shamelessly in public. And most definitely wanted to share a bed with him. For years to come.

And she hoped he felt the same.

Before Arthur and the newest knights of Camelot left the Round Table, he kissed Gwen.

She had doubted befor he kissed her, saying, "They'll see."

But he'd said he didn't care. He really couldn't give a damn if his knights saw him kissing the woman he loved. So he kissed her in front of everybody. He tried to convey a message through emotions. As if to say 'When this is all over, I'll be there'.

She pulled away and nodded, aknowledging the message he conveyed. Although Gwen knew it wasn't over yet, she knew he'd be there. And when it was all over that promise would be kept.

The climax was new settling down. What had to happen had happened. The veil was closed, and the shock of Lancelot's death had gone down to a dull roar.

He knocked on the door and waited with bated breath. Arthur hadn't worn a cloak. He'd just strolled through the town confidently to Guinevere's door.

And to his relief she'd answered.

"Arthur." She stepped aside, let him in, and closed the door.

"Guinevere." Arthur opened his arms and she ran into them.

They stood there. Arthur kissed the top of her head and pulled her closer. Gwen pulled away and looked deep into Arthur's eyes. She gave him a look so passionate and loving that he could not hold himself in anymore. He dipped his head down and kissed her.

When she pulled away, Gwen bit her lip and smiled.

"Will you come stay with me tonight Guinevere?" Arthur whispered in her ear.

She nodded, "But won't people notice? Or barge into your chambers?"

"No, I'll tell them not to come in unless it's an emergency. And that they have to knock first."

"Alright then. I'll get a change of dress." She grabbed a bag from the door hook and a dress change from behind her screen. Arthur held the door for her and they walked back up to the castle.

He explained to the guards to not come in unless Camelot was being invaded, or something extremely urgent with the Council was happening. Then they were alone in his chambers. Gwen dropped her bag and kissed Arthur passionately, and he responded in kind. His fingers took out the pins holding her hair, and it tumbled down around her back.

"God I want you so badly Guinevere." Arthur whispered in her ear, "And I don't care if it's improper to say so. It is the truth."

"And I you, sire. And I you." She said.

They fell onto the bed and let their passion for each other completely take over. Through out the night, they were together. And in the morning, they stayed alone together in the room. They called in Merlin to draw a bath for them.

Both Guinevere and Arthur knew at some point they'd have to separate and perform their respective duties. But, they knew the night would be there for them.

And all through the day, they'd be thinking of each other.
