Okay, so here's a little drabble I came up with in about 30 minutes before my senior seminar class. I'm trying to get other stuff updated and put up, but school is really beating me up this semester, so this random drabble will be all for the moment.

Warnings: No beta, drabble, SasuNaruSasu/NaruSasuNaru, mentions of violence, AU

Disclaimer: I do not own the Naruto characters, or the lyric(s) that inspired this.

Inspiration:
"I know what's good for me, but I want you instead."
-Three Days Grace (Over and Over)

Naruto glanced over at his boyfriend, Sasuke Uchiha, and shook his head. The man was everything that the blonde said he would never fall for—a drinker, a smoker, and a troublemaker. Now, Naruto was a troublemaker himself, but not in the sense that Sasuke was. The blonde played harmless pranks; whereas, Sasuke was often on the wrong side of the law.

Naruto sure had a real winner there.

However, despite all the things that the blonde disliked about his boyfriend, there were plenty of qualities that the Uchiha had that redeemed his bad ones. For example, Sasuke was a fair lover, giving and taking as much as he expected from Naruto, and if the blonde was having a bad day, he would back off of his lustful advances and turn into the loving and concerned partner. He also stuck by his word, never lying, if he could help it, and he refused to make promises that he knew he couldn't keep; he was always honest with Naruto. Sasuke also had a protective streak. One time the Uchiha sent someone to the hospital when he heard that the man had beat up Naruto for being homosexual. Now, the blonde didn't condone such violence, normally—not to mention that Sasuke was slapped with a nasty fine for assault—but he was…touched that his boyfriend would go so far to keep him from getting hurt again.

However, that's not to say that the couple didn't have their problems, or that Naruto didn't sometimes wonder why he was even still with the Uchiha. In fact, they often argued, and sometimes their fights resulted in physical violence. There was one fight that landed Naruto with a concussion and Sasuke a split lip that needed stitches, and Naruto put an end to their relationship once he was released from observation at the hospital.

He stayed separated from Sasuke for three months after that. However, he did take the bastard back because the Uchiha was 'his bastard', and not to mention that he missed his boyfriend, despite the fights. Sasuke was like a drug to him, one that he should have quit before he got addicted, but it was far too late to ever get away now.

Apparently Sasuke also had a bad three months when they were separated. The Uchiha got into more fights with people than usual in the beginning, but his destructive tendencies turned inward before long, blaming himself for their break up. While, yes, Naruto did place some of the blame on Sasuke, he also placed an equal amount of that blame on himself. He could have walked away from the fight before it escalated too far, but he also had gotten in the habit of testing the patience of others while hanging around Sasuke.

What a lovely influence.

Even so, despite Sasuke's faults, he was also a supporter and lover for Naruto, and while the blonde knew what was good for him…he wanted Sasuke instead.
