How Zelda: The Ocarina of Time should have ended
As we know, in the end of the game link and all of his friends are dancing and happy. What should have happened:
Zelda and link go back to their war broken castle. They get married, and are living the happy life as a loving couple. Then one of Ganon's followers is still around. He hates link. He doesn't want to kill him, but rather watch him suffer.
At dinner one night link is drinking his wine. All of a sudden he falls out of his chair knocked out on the floor. He had been poisoned. Zelda ran to check to see if he was alright, but she had been intercepted by an evil man with a dragons tail. He pulled out a dagger and stabbed Zelda in her heart. The guards heard a ruckus and busted the door open to see what had happened. The man did a back flip out of the window, and Zelda and link lie on the ground.
When Link woke up he is in a bed and had been told what had done. He was upset an ran to see his wife's body, dead and cold. He had to leave. He went back to his home villiage to say goodbye to saria. She cried. He would have liked to stay to comfort her but his place was not in Hyrule anymore.
And then he continues his journey to Majora's Mask.
