Disclaimer: I do not own Rizzoli and Isles, that little money maker is owned by TNT and Janet Tamaro. I only use the characters because I'm too lazy to think of new ones and there hot characters. It's non profit bit of fun.

a/n: its my first fan fic so be nice and give me some hints and tips for better writing or have fun praising/slagging me off. enjoy!

'Okay I know I should be a little happier about the medal thingy, but I'm just not that psyched about it. I shot myself, big whoop.' Jane Rizzoli slurred nursing a bottle of Boston's finest micro brewed lager in her hands.

'Dude you really need to lighten up, you is a hero of Boston, a decorated detective and your only 32. Seriously if I was your age and pulling half the shit you pull outta your ass, I would dye a happy man.' Frost chimed in the most serious, yet cheery voice he could muster. Jane just started at him with one eyebrow raised, thinking had he lost it.

Yeah Jane was a great cop and in excellent shape, but she just couldn't help the feeling that she was missing something (apart from a chuck of her liver taken out by the gunshot wound), it was something that was going to change and make her life extremely better than it was. Her mother Angela/nosy, had always said it was because of her man troubles and Angela's insistence, 'you should have a nice, fine Italian man and have nice, Italian children,' she always said. Yet even though Jane had gone out with all the douche bags that her mother has set her up with and with people she voluntarily had dinner dates with, she never felt that spark she thought she would get when being with someone.

After a while she just gave up and is now drinking with two single guys, Frost (her younger official police partner) and Korsak (a lot older, three failed marriages and Jane's ex-police partner). So as the three of them started to drink up there last bottle of lager for the night, Frost got up said his goodbye and left the bar. Korsak on the other hand stayed and put his hand on Jane's arm as she was about to get her coat on, obviously indicating that he had something to say.

'Jane, are you alright? I mean I know the shooting at the precinct was rough and all but you do know you got me to talk to and even if it is not about that I'm still cool if you wanna chat. I may be your old partner, but I sure as hell have a few more answers and points of view than you do okay?.'

Jane looked at him with a smile that was grateful for the support.

'thanks Korsak, I know you're there and all but… I think I need to figure whatever has got me beat on my won.' As she finished talking she got up, fished out a couple of bucks for the beers and put her coat on, 'thanks Korsak you're a good man.'

'Well I'm fed up of being badass all the time, I think being the good cop helps a little bit. You should give it a try.' Korsak said with an easy tone in his voice.

'Yeah, yeah maybe when I'm as old as you.' Jane said with a chuckle as she went out the door.

Jane got out of the bar to a crisp chilly wind and decided to walk home instead of hail a cab, a) so she could sober up and b) so she didn't have to pay excessive charges due to it being past midnight on a Friday. Anyways she started walking the pavement zoning out when she heard a crash in the alleyway up ahead. Even though she kept her guard up she probably figured it was a cat or something, walking past the entrance of the alleyway she looked down and saw something shadowed in the distance.

It looked like a dog but seemed way too big; she went for her flash light but forgot that she left it at the station in the top drawer of her desk. Instead she drew her gun as she stepped in the alleyway and as she got closer the growl increased. All she was thinking was why she was doing the stupid horror movie cliché and walking down a creepy alley whilst pissed, she came to the answer quiet quickly. She was badass that's why, well so she thought.

She took three more steps before a crunch under her foot set everything in motion, from that point on everything went at a snail's pace. The growl became a snarl, which became a bark as paws pounded the pavement and snarls echoed down the walls. Jane managed to shoot a couple of bullets at the creature before the animal smashed her into the ground and pinned her to the floor. As Jane's eyes open she saw now the full size of the creature, not only was it big in bulk but it was tall and lean. Its fangs were huge and white and his eyes were as red as blood that glowed even in the dark.

By this point Jane thought she was a goner and thought of all the times she had regretted, like incapacitating her mother so she couldn't set her up on dates or at least having a relationship for longer than a year just to say she had gotten that far with someone. As she thought this and literally looked at her death straight in the eye, she swore she could of heard a swoosh sound, you know the sound in cartoons that sound people dub over with to purvey a really fast moving object.

In this case though it was a person and her life saver, Five seconds after the sound she felt something hot drip onto her stomach and saw the glow go out of the creature's eyes, she then looked down at where the drip was coming from and noticed a huge fucking pole going through the torso of the beast.

Jane breathed out the long held in air that she thought was her last, as she pushed the dog like creature of herself. She was just about to get up when a hand was put in front of her face.

'Need help?' the voice had said sweetly as if this was a normal day and Jane just went ass over tit.

'Yeah thanks, I'd say that was a close call but actually I have had worse' Jane said sarcastically and straightened herself out before looking up. Because when she did she stopped breathing for a good thirty seconds before she got used to the beauty in front of her.

The woman who was her saviour was small, curvaceous, with strawberry blonde her, pale skin and beautiful hazel eyes. She wore a dark green leather jacket and skin tight black denim jeans, her purple top was silk and left a lot of cleavage on show. Jane couldn't think of anything but how beautiful she was the question of what the dead thing was on the floor beside them didn't even come into her mind in the first thirty seconds on looking at the small woman.

'I'm sorry for the mess and the trouble this thing has caused you, has he hurt you at all? Like a scratch or bite? Mostly so I can check the wound for infection.' The woman had said in clinical and clear voice.

Jane, who was still in awe of the woman, shook her head and managed to get out. 'urmm… no I'm fine the damn thing just knocked me over... what is that thing anyways?' Jane now said in a more professional term as a detective.

The woman looked at the dead creatures body and said matter of factly, 'a werewolf'

'Right… seriously though? What is it?' Jane continued

'A werewolf, I told you, though as your human I'm hypothesizing that you can't come to the same understanding, because you think that's impossible, because it comes out of some story of mystic legend? Am I correct in thinking so?'

'Werewolves are not real, that…' Jane said pointing to the were now dead on the floor, 'is some seriously overgrown dog that got a bit rabid.'

Jane now noticed that the woman was now looking at her oddly, not in a way that creeped her out but in the same way that she herself had looked at this strange woman.

Flustered Jane said in her husky tone'well I think I have had too much to drink tonight and you are just a bit… weird, next your gunna tell me vampires and witches are real too.' Jane said with a snicker as she started to turn around, putting her hand in her pocket ready to call animal control.

As she completed her turn, she jumped out of her skin as she saw the woman in front of her and looking at her with an up turned lip.

'You know just because everyone says we are not real doesn't mean we aren't and besides...' the woman trailed off as she walked closer to the tall detective and looked up into her brown eyes. '… you know I'm real and the only explanation of my speed is either I teleported from one space to another, which incidentally is scientifically impossible or…' bringing her hand up to the brunettes cheek and looking deeper into her eyes 'I am a creature out of one of those novels and am indeed a vampire.'

As the blonde's hand rested on Jane's cheek she felt two things, one complete and utter fear that this woman was telling the truth, that indeed she was one of Bram Stoker's brilliant literary concoctions, a vampire. The other feeling was completely new to the detective. Her heart beat faster, her knees felt weak and the butterflies in her stomach were going ape shit. Even with the fear something made the brunette want this woman.

'I… I… don't know what to believe anymore.' As Jane said those words her eyes looked to the floor as her head leaned into the hand of the small strawberry blonde woman.

'Well you don't have to believe me.' Jane looked up at what the woman just said with a puzzled look which was quickly erased when the hand that was on her cheek moved to the back of her neck. The detective's eyes connected with the hazel ones, as she was leaning closer bit by bit the fear she had slowly disappeared and was gone completely when their lips connected and what felt like electricity flowed between them. This kiss started softly then heated up with the brunette now snaking her arms around the smaller woman's waist and the smaller women now entangling her fingers in the wild curls of Jane's hair. Just before the kiss got too heavy the detective reluctantly pulled away, looked into the eyes of the most beautiful woman she had even seen and said,

'I don't even know your name.'

'I know and your never going to know it,' with that last word from her lips Jane blacked out.
